Marcus was sleeping in his master bed room when his alarm clock decided to toll causing him to immediately sit upright eyes wide open pulling a large Bowie knife out from under his pillow. When he saw what had woke him he sighed and put the knife down. "I should really turn the volume down on that thing." He said angrily as he put the knife down and slid off of bed noticing that someone else was awake. The little dog he found in a gutter a few years back he had named Maruke was sniffing around the spot on the floor he was about to step onto generally looking adorable. He smiled at the little guy and gave him a pat on the head before walking off to the near by bathroom which the little dog followed attentively. Once in the bathroom he went through his morning routine of brushing his teeth and whatnot before dressing for the day in his usual attire for lounging about the house doing nothing but watching terrible sitcoms with his dog seated next to him all day with occasional bathroom and food brakes for both his dog and himself. He exited his bedroom wearing his usual flannel shirt and jeans with his father's hat to complete the look and went down a flight of stairs into his kitchen to start up some coffee and breakfast for himself an the dog who was still trailing him the whole way. While his coffee brewed and he decided to let Maruke out to do his business despite the rain figuring if the little guy really had to go getting a little wet wouldn't bother him. He opened the door to the backyard and as expected the beagle ran out in a flash of brown and white fur to go play in the rain. Marcus sighed knowing he would have to rub the little guy down once he's done so he doesn't track mud in knowing how the dog hated the towel. While waiting for Maruke to he decided to turn on his commlink and check a few things notably his bank account under a false name that was paying for his current way of life. What he saw on the screen nearly gave him a heart attack. "Nothing? How could there be nothing?!" He asked himself allowed as the screen read error insufficient funds. He felt a sudden surge of anger flow through him and he felt and urge to throw the phone but then realized if he broke it he wouldn't have enough money to get a replacement. He put his commlink into his pocket before noticing the dog was sitting patiently in front of the door being rained on. His anger melted when he saw the little guy and he opened the door letting him in not caring to rub him down after seeing he had nothing to pay the rent with. He felt the usual feeling of hopelessness come over him as he locked the backdoor before going to grab his cup of coffee. He then exited the kitchen and entered the spacious living room with his cushy recliner and Maruke's doggy bed seated next to each other in front of a large television and sat down bringing the coffee to his lips and grimacing from how bitter it is. He had forgotten to add sugar and cream but quite frankly with the hopelessness setting in and general laziness he just set the cup on the end table and sulked. What the hell was he going to do? He only knew one way how to make money but he swore to himself he was never going back to that life before. He's not the monster that wore the suit he keeps in the basement anymore he's not the Wanderer. He's Marcus, Marcus Skyruss the lazy do nothing that lives with his dog not the child killer or the Journeyman or even the swordsman that was the Wanderer. The Wanderer was dead and the world was better off with him dead. He pulled the lever on his recliner and leaned back with his feet elevated and turned on the tv with the remote that was on the end table. The tv lit up showing the news and the weather pretty much stating the obvious in that it was raining right now and he groaned as his mind forced him to not ignore the importance of the situation he was in. He sat up in his recliner and brought his hands to his face sighing. What the hell was he going to do? He can't go back to the Journeymen they would eat him alive with how his skills have dulled and he can't exactly go out and sign up for an interview at some convenience store. The only way he knew how to make money was with a gun and a sword and quite frankly he was pretty damn good at it but he can't just go back to being the Wanderer. He heard a high pitched whining at his feet and looked up a bit to see Maruke sitting at the foot of the recliner clearly worried about his master which brought a smile to Marcus' face again as he pulled the lever to sent the chair back into normal position and he patted the dog's head. That dog was about the only thing he got right in his life he thought to himself as he rubbed it's head. "I'll be alright Mal just need to think." He said to it's concerned canine face. He let go and leaned back again thinking about what he could possibly do so he could pay rent this month. He didn't know anyone he could call at this point that wouldn't immediately try to either kill him or bring him back into the sort of business he swore he would rather kill himself than get back into. Well there was actually one person but it was totally out of the question, an old friend he decided to look up on a whim a few months ago but there was no way they would even remember him or be able to help him like this. Besides why would she help him anyways he left without so much as a word or even a note. Though given the circumstances from back then he didn't really blame himself too much but he wasn't exactly sure she would be so understanding. He shook his head getting rid of the ridiculous thought no he's not dragging her into his life she was probably better off without him anyways. He sulked back into his chair and put the bitter coffee to his mouth again unsure about what to do but determined to think of something.
Albus woke up after a good nights sleep. He stretched and yawned leisurely in his bed, white serpent tattoos decorating his half naked body, entangling him. He turned to his nightstand, turning on a music player. A rough metal riff began blasting its tunes, sure to be heard to the hallway of his apartment complex. Albus listened to the song for a few moments he had heard a million times before, with a sly grin in his face. He got off bed and lit a cigarette, humming the lyrics to the song that was playing. Walking to the kitchen he prepared himself a simple breakfast and tea. While the water was boiling he checked his contacts and commlink. Zero messages and too few nuyen. Savings wouldn't last long. A frown followed and a dissatisfied grunt. "Hopefully this new crew is any good..." He muttered to himself while chewing toast. He had no idea what kind of people they really were, a tingle of excitement and anticipation creeping up his gut. One thing was for sure in the shadows and Albus knew it: never can have too many friends. "Let's make some money." He whispered through cigarette smoke to a poster of a female sports model he had on a wall, his serpent tattoos flashing in arcane light for a small moment.
Nora had awoken with a groan as she got up from her matress, not a very comfortable sleep but at least it was a sleep, Getting up to perform a daily routine Nora would begin her own morning rituals first communing with her mentor spirit, then a thirty minute work out to make sure she stayed in shape. Before going to talks a quick shower, toweling off Nora began to get ready for her day checking her calendar making note of when Gabriel would be sending The kid over and when Nora had free days when she would be looking for work, "Got a few days free making myself busy with a few jobs should be good to make sure I can have rent few months in advance for this Dump." Nora said to herself as she began getting ready for the day grabbing up her comlink and deciding to leave a text message to several people she knew that her services were available before pocketing her comlink to go and try to stomach down a tube of nutrisoy.
@bossaroo Tyesha returned the hug eagerly, squeezing him with all the strength she had (which admittedly wasn't a lot). "Oh hush now love. You know your morning wouldn't be the same without my gorgeous voice waking you up." She chuckled as he ran back eagerly to his nest, curling up again with his stolen cup of coffee. I taught you well dearie. She chuckled to herself slightly as she wandered over back to Kruger, genuinely curious as to what they'd be doing today. The Nuyen was running a bit low this month, enough to actually make her wonder if they could afford the apartment for another month, which was pretty dam sad considering it was dirt poor. @BuriasDempsey "Oh I'm sure you are love. Don't keep him to long Sasha." She said with a wink in her voice before taking a long drag from her cig. @kanila Although upon hearing the request to cook breakfast the elf immediately retreated, holing up in Leon's massive nest of pillows and blankets. Did he spend all of his Nuyen on this? "We are brother and sister silly, can't you see the resemblance?" The elf exclaimed as he pressed her face against Showbiz, showing the clear lack of resemblance. "Also you wouldn't want me to cook Lruger dearie, you know what happens when I cook." Tyesha then seemed to be lost in a memory, filled with cooking and screams.
@Keidivh @kanila "Alright, I'll get moving then, I'll see you both soon." he said before hanging up the call and sighing to himself. "I guess everyone is a little strapped for nuyen. Like I said, I'll be back late most likely honey, don't forget about the pistol in the nightstand." he said in a matter of fact way as he headed out towards the door to make his merry way to Kruger and company's apartment block, hoping backalleys and streets will keep him out of sight most of the time.
@Keidivh @bossaroo "You're right, don't feel like finding a new apartment. Leon you're up, your turn to make breakfast." He pulled out his comlink again, no new messages. When was Mr. Johnson gonna make contact? "Hey Tyesha, you get any calls from our employer yet?" He tossed the spent cigarette into the empty bottle he was using as an ashtray, he had enough for this months rent and maybe next month. But there were always other expenses. They needed this run, badly. "Oh and before I forget, Tyesha we may need some extra muscle on this run. You know anyone?"
@Vulpas Marcus was still sitting in his chair drinking the bitter coffee when his phone dinged having received a message. Confused he set his mug down on the end table and pulled his phone out of his pocket curious about who on earth could be texting him. Curious still it was from a number he had never seen before. "Huh well got nothing better to do." He mumbled to himself as he touched the screen and typed a short response. "Who. Are. You?"
@kanila @Keidivh The boy groan from within his nest of blankets and pillows before pulling himself further into it " remember the last time i used the machines for breakfast ? It short circuted but FINE !" He stood up and placed his coffee on the table subsequently stubbing his toe In a fit of rebellion and embarrassment he sulked over to his nest and rolled himself into a makeshift blanket cacoon. After a few minutes and hearing the other two talk on the phone he realized he was actually going to have to make food. Leon crawled out of the blanket cacoon and grabbed his coffee as he grabbed 3 shoddy plastic bowls and poured the makeshift family a bowl of "Delicious nutri-soy brand nurti flakes the main part of a delicious breakfast" Leon chuckles as he digs into the dry cereal "could someone get the milk ?"
@TuskatheDaemonKilla Nora was at the table as she heard her phone vibrate loud enough to message heard that she got a text, picking up nher Commlink she noticed thee message asking who are you? Not recognizing the number she wondered if she had put in the wrong number again, Some times having big hands were a disadvantage, Deciding to make the best out of this she decided to somewhat advertise while telling who she was, "Doctor for hire, and free lancer in security operations and combat operations Angel services." Nora decided to message back selecting what she put down very carefully.
~Text Reply~ @Vulpas However, it seemed that Varrick Juliues, one of Nora's contacts also managed to get a hold of the message, as he soon set back the reply: "Good. See u @ Golden Lion Inn 4 jobs. Found Decker 2 introduce as well 2 team." Evidently, there was both work in quantities enough that Nora could take her pick of them and someone new to be put onto the team. ~Emzee~ @Casavay Meanwhile, when the Nartakai had a moment to pay attention to her mail she would find a new item entitled "Job offer", which couldn't have come at a better time given her skint credstick meant that she needed a cash infusion and fast before even her hovel was too expensive to keep. Meanwhile, the actual text of the matrix mail read: "So, my name is Varrick Juliues and word on the street is you're a pretty good at hacking. I have a team of runners that are lacking in decking support, so I guess you wouldn't mind coming along to the Golden Lion Inn if you're interested in some proper work. Ask for Julies at the front desk, if you don't happen to meet a Troll by the name of Nora first."
