Recently I was viewing the screenshots I had taken of Space Marine's gameplay and scenery and it got me thinking. Wouldn't these screenshots be cool if I didn't have my character's back to the 'camera' in all of them, or even have my character in what could supposedly be a very appealing desktop wallpaper or even just to have a visual collection of what battles I'd have taken part in. Now, Space Marine wasn't a very multiplayer and organisational focused game, there was no way for Strikeforces of 30 Marines to assemble at one point and launch an assault at a massive Chaos fortress where's Eternal Crusade will be. I know Space Marine had a first person mod (and patched dev commands) but Eternal Crusade will be a client based game which will hinder the types of Game mods and addons allowed (Possibly even cosmetics such as custom skins or HUDs won't be allowed) and there's no point buying a fancy Strike Cruiser interior if you can't show it off to people. TL;DR I basically think it would feasible and greatly appreciated post launch to implement an inbuilt means to capture screenshots such as a first person camera mode.
We could have a off battle first person mode, maybe... I would even like to fight in first person, but the game is in third and I'm ok with it.
A camera mode button would be nice. Basically just take the stalker bolter zoom minimum level and remove all UI elements.
Hmm, a real-time spectator mode may be problematic, I mean what would there be to safeguard against some slimey Ultramarine using the freebound camera to find out where that crafty ork Sniper is hiding on the other-side of the valley or what's waiting for him on otherside of a doorway. If Eternal Crusade resembled Warthunder or World Of Tanks then you could easily implement a replay system where you could nab screenshots or narrate over them like the Mighty Jingles does. Unfortunately for this case, it doesn't.
con: game breaking feature pro: peeping tom on Eldar women ( the only women on Arkhona). Also I'm sure the behind the scenes look at Orks will hastily be approached by MTV with a contract in hand.
