My bad, only found out about EC yesterday through AngryJoe vid so still getting to grips with what's in the game Guess the scouts are staying in the chapel barracks / guarding the HQ on this one then.
I know...so many discussions here about scouts in the game, apothecaries as a basic class, etc...having scouts as a playable class would be the most logical thing...or not? Guardians didn't get in the basic class list, or cultists for CSM...and now both are confirmed as NPC garrisons...so I make an estimated guess that that's the reason scouts are not in the basic class list... And it makes sense actually...in a TPS MMO,with no autoaiming, with friendly fire, if you have NPC's, you need to make them as easily identifiable as possible...what's a better choice than certain classes, with distinct looks, while the same time being the "weaker" options from each faction?
The devs never said NO to scouts, just they won't be playable at launch but they want everything that is in the codex to be in the game eventually.
Scouts as a class isn't needed at all, just scout wargear. Every SM is technically an expert scout as that is the first area new recruits have to master before moving up to full SM.
Well the Horus Heresy Ruleset counterparts of 40K Scouts are full marines that can choose to wear either scout or power armour yet still have access to Sniper Rifles, Camo-Cloaks and similar wargear. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/The_Hor...onnaisance_Squad/LEGION_MKIV_RECON_SQUAD.html http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Images/Product/AlternativeFW/xlarge/leg-rec-p7.jpg
mate, this is 40k, not 30k Also, snipers are the most unfun thing in games, In a game thats going to be excessively bloody that worst thing that would happen would be being sniped while executing a guy
Watch out for Lascannons then. My post was about there being a precedence for full Battle Brothers to wear Scout armour, outside of the Wolf Scouts.
Leave aside that sometimes scouts are even elites ... I would have loved to have marines start as scouts and work their way upwards. Maybe a tough and long way even (even more so for termis) but would habe perfectly fittet rhe fluff aspect! I even don't care whether all factions have scouts as I anyway don't support the "every factions has everything" notion.
