They lack honour They rely on little more than luck to win They couldn't even fight Tyranids without the help of the Dark Eldar They are worthless only worthy of being crushed beneath our metal heels
The tau are proving to be an invaluable ally to the Sylthek dynasty after its decline during The Sleep, while their ideologies are single-minded, they have an aptitude for innovation and that is to be admired
At one point in time I thought the Tau where a lot stronger then most races, but I later I desided to reserch more into them, and look at lore, and found I these two videos form Arch Warhammer witch I give this persion much credit. He knows lore and dose his research well. Say when you guys have the time, these two videos give a good insight on Tau. Since then they move much feather down on my list of races. The Tau Empire, 40k Lore Part 1 The Tau Empire, 40k Lore Part 2
Oh i remember him! He was one of the biggest fantasy guys until that whole age of Skubmar thing happened and Fantasy died an embarrassing death. Quite amusing that one. Also, Imotekh you traitor you killed me! Repeatedly. I'm mad about it because you outplayed me so I can't be mad about how you beat me, so I'm mad that I can't be mad. Lol you were doing good as always, with a 3-1 KD last I had checked. Keep up the good work! Also guys, I just realized something. Orikan has a Tail. What is this. Necrons do not possess tails. I'm so confused right now.
Well let me in on something. Crypteks shows to have tails, Triach predatorians also have. NOT the best picture... I asume that Necrons have tails. but I also have this theory on it, Males Simple cut them off at birth. Some females keep them but it is so De-evolved by the time of the bio transferance that only few people really have them... as a sign of "SWAG" Now.. The tail being a sign of balance in the system leaving the Triarchs to have them due to them being the Necron lawkeepers aka "Balance" Also Every Cryptek have them... so... I asume it is a thing... Overlords don't need them. and some people just dig tails... Like my requests sometimes does..
That's...actually a really interesting theory I am writing down. And highly likely. Yet another thing that makes us greater than the lesser races. That explains why Praetorians have it, and some Crypteks. I Wonder if that means Lord Szarekh has a tail. This is actually really interesting. Interestingly, they seem to be bladed (in a serrated sort of way) and somewhat monkey like tip and general shape. Perhaps it had a use in one of the many rituals of our people, or in combat because, well, bladed tail. Perhaps some even used it with add-ons like the above art by you. Who is that anyways. Speaking of add-ons, do you think maybe prosthetics were popular amongst the Necrontyr. Many Necrons changed out their body for a hoverboard or the like, for example Szeras became spider cron and many of the more deranged victims of time attached either canons or claws to their hands. And if you look closely at it, some weapons for Overlords and the like resemble prosthetics as well, like the gauntlet of flame or the gauntlet of the Conflagerator. Like giant clawed hands. Also, possibly a single better eye for accuracy and focus on things like deathmarks an annihilation barge drivers, and extra eyes, probably as a flat out enhancement or mutation on the greater tiered Overlords like Zarathusa and Anrakyr. Further more, I'm sure we have all noticed this but we have very large spines, and they are both curved and sometimes spiky, indicating a hunched lifestyle. All armor seems to be around them and angled forwards, and poor visibility is had in that direction. This is likely due to the honor codes making them expect attacks from the front, so no need to see behind them, as no honorable Necron would sneak attack like that. Also, Necrons seem to have claws. All their regular hands have them, Flayed ones seem to up them, and gauntlet of flames and such emphasis them. Perhaps they had some significance in Necrontyr culture, and/or were part of the Necron martial arts? Also, Necrons seem to have pentagonal pointed heads, very similar to the coffin like design around the ankh of the Triarch. Possibly the design choice, to show all thought of the Triarch? We also seem to lack lips, and possibly hair, but judging by Zarathusa and Imotekh it may simply be covered by massive headgear, as Zarathusa has some kind of head crest thing, which may be different and perhaps be some kind of replacement or alternative that Necrons possess. So many questions. Thanks Zcee, that post really got me going and now I'm theorizing like crazy. I'll be in a small theorizing frenzy if you need me.
This could be a costumation. I blame it mostly on how GW will make us special. But I have Explored all the Ways Necron Crowns, adornments and Jewlery has been playing out. Many of them could be really interesting agumentations. The Destroyer platform is a Universal tool all around the galaxy. that does probaly mean that All necrons have had the plans for it. meaning that the design maybe were used before the Destroyer madness. or maybe The destroyer madness is deeper than just The great sleep and ages all the way back into the Biotransferance? who knows? The flayed ones also seems to have more advanced legs and alike. complicated vertions at least. Less uniformed. just as their claws hingint at the Flayer virus is manipulating them. I say that the Models we have already leaves us open with a world of Necrons to explore. I saw this when I studyed the Necron canon to experiment with my artworks and designs for my Necrons. As you can see with my protraits. I have made quite some research and quite some progress in finding the Necrontyr style. That is in face a really good point. I have a theory myself that Necrons can Lift their head out of their protective hides for greater vision like a turtle. when they are out of combat. Like: The neak section hinting at being able to be submerged into a more protective stance. Since All necrons the Imperium has seen is in combat. they be in this stance all of them.. but out of combat they might even make their armor more moveble for the sake of comfort sacrifysing Protection for movement.
Yeah, I agree with you there. Necrons wouldn't just have stuff lying around like the destroyer bodies unless they had a need for it. The idea of a pre-biotransferance destroyer madness is an interesting one, as it would certainly fit in with their theme and explain why they adapted to the destroyers so quickly, there was nothing to adapt to. It also shows an interesting insight into the Necron mental health programs, or the lack there of. It seems the strategy is to shove them somewhere and ignore them, and only bring them out when useful or needed. A comparison between Szeras, Vagul, and Destroyers could be made here. And I think your progress and research has likely surpassed mine long ago, with how well you do design what you draw. Its an understatement to call it art, and its of a quality and dedication I rarely see from anyone, even those who are paid good money for such art. The neck theory makes sense, and if you look at the neck, even in you picture it has clear segments that may be for that very purpose. The pauldrons also look moveable, and the cape judging by the way it is attached around the spine as opposed to it may be detachable as well. The chest and leg armor also very much looks like power armor, and the feet are straight up boots. It is likely the body has the same peace-time/comfort functions whatever ancient Necrontyr powerarmor had, and was designed after it. Unfortunately, we never see Necrons at rest. The appearance and cultural data we could gather from such a text would be beyond valuable and immensely fascinating.
