Finally getting away from any crimson clad soldier patrols, most of the Laughing Skulls were in awe of the towering structure that they were in the midst of. They only ever saw them from a distance from the wall, if the day wasn't as normally smog ridden as it usually is. Even in their abandoned state, it was easy to see the credits poured into nearly every inch in this sector. No wonder the workers rebelled. They picked their way through the debris on the streets, looking for anything that might be of interest in the area right now and to get a lay of the land during their ad hoc recon op.
@Azathoth The hooded figure stared at the cultist revealing it's mechanical face plate devoid of any human features. One the left side of it's 'face' two small red lights blinked in short intervals while a large lens we in and out of focus until it found an appropriate position. The thing said nothing and just observed the cultist as if it were staring into his soul, the man would find this rather unsettling as the machine just stared saying absolutely nothing. After around ten or so seconds the machine turned around and began walking away. Strange things such as this were common in Sanctus with it's denizens usually ignoring them out of choice and general lack of interest. But then again every now and then someone might investigate and who knows what they may find. Visual aid: here @Grall_Stonefist The Redemtionists charged with righteous and quite frankly terrifying ferocity quickly overwhelming the remaining scouts. Avilex personally smashed the skull of the final scout so hard that his power mace went into the damned man's rib cage causing organs and blood to pour out. Thane cleaved one of the heretics right down the middle with his eviscerator while the two penitents killed the remaining scouts in a similar fashion. The alleyway was soaked in the blood of heretics their bodies broken and twisted while the Redemtionists with their holy duty finished with extreme prejudice took notice of something in the pocket of the bottom half of a disemboweled heretic. A crude map of the industrial district with several small settlements marked out along with three factories marked salvageable. (The actual map of Sanctus is still a work in progress since it turns out I'm shit at map making but you can go ahead and do what you want with the new info) @Keidivh The group heads north to one of the larger residential districts without issue as they found the streets relatively calm despite the clear evidence that a large group of people was moving around the area not too long ago. They would follow the roads until they came across what appeared to be an old PDF outpost with a single man clad in carapace armor posted atop the outpost's walls talking to a robed individual outside the walls. After watching the two for a couple of minutes the robed individual left and the guard went back to his duties. Presumably there would be more than just that single guard in the outpost but the gates had been bashed down and they could see the doors leading into the actual building were also bashed in. @Vulpas Seth's charge hit home as he slammed into the guardsman knocking him against a wall for the shots from Rin to hit the man's chest causing him to slowly sink down to the ground as blood poured from the several holes in his torso. Gideon's shots then rang out turning the the dazed militia men into pulp as Gunther found he had not targets left to take his revenge upon. Meanwhile Theodas made his was to the unconscious Cogsworth who was still breathing but faintly and they would need to their bleeding stoped immediately. Doc on the other hand laid motionless, their wound having been cauterized by the las bolt but they didn't appear to be breathing. [Injuries and hindrances] Cogsworth: Shot to the chest currently unconscious and bleeding out Rin: Shot in the shoulder is unable to use any two handed equipment Doc: Shot in the back at point blank and is not breathing (Rin will need bandaging but Doc will need a resuscitation roll to see if she lives and Cogsworth will need to have her bleeding stopped) @bossaroo The Wasteland Kings finally arrived at the Junkyard as their chimera rolled over a decrepit chain link fence. They now saw the rolling mountains of trash, scrap metal, and many other forms of waste products from countless years of heavy industry. Plenty of muated horrors and savages have made their home in this territory but for now on the outskirts things were mostly quiet baring the not to distant sound of a fire fight to the north east. (You made it without issue go ahead and do what you want) @BuriasDempsey In the rubble of the streets the group would find basic salvageable materials from scrap metal to even a smashed auspex that was barely functional. As they looked around further they wouldn't find anything else of note but they did get a general for the bottom floor of the so called Royal District. The bottom was once where the servants and workers for the nobility that lived above. For obvious reasons when the revolution hit it's first stages many of the high rises were looted and burned with several noble families either being taken prisoner or killed in a variety of horrific ways. The hung and crucified skeletons on top of some of the shorter high rises were evidence enough of the brutality and anger of the workers as some of the skeletons were sickeningly small. @GoreWrencha The renegades followed the Hammerguard stealthily making very little noise and staying a reasonable distance away from them. The Hammerguard themselves move quickly and with purpose with their weapons always at the ready. They now spoke very little showing some form of discipline despite their earlier petty vandalism, these were not rebellious children they were heavily armed with Vastitas pattern las guns and heavy looking respirator gear complete with flak helmet and thick rawhide great coats. These men were soldiers that much was obvious, after around half an hour of following the squad of Hammerguard stopped in front of a normal looking manhole. The Sergeant of the group knelt down near it and pressed down hard on the center pushing revealing a key pad. He then quickly punched in code and the manhole cover lifted itself up creating a hole just big enough for the soldiers to squeeze through and enter whatever was beneath. (For plot purposes your guys were able to see the code: 135425634 also Vastitas pattern las gun: also heres the sergeant's shotgun also Vastitas pattern: )
As the blood fizzed away from his powermace, Avilex looked across their little skirmish, the heretics had been purged, no injuries worthy of notice had been sustaned, the only sad thing was that all of the heretics had been smote, not a single prisoner to liberate. Avilex picked up the crude map drawing, it was unreliable to use information carried by the enermy, but it was batter than nothing, "Pontius, get over here, check this up with the map you are drawing, Thane, you can nail one of the dead to a wall, to show we have been here. The rest of you, check the corpses for something of use, then pile them and set them ablaze" Avilex ordered all around. Whilst Pontius *updated* their own makeshift mappings, Thane had begun nailing one if of the dead blood pack scouts to a nearby wall, the normal cross poss. "Be quick, arcoding to this map, there is a settlement not too far away, close to another manufactorum, the Emperors holy flame needs stoking."
The cultists reported the odd sighting to Remus. After a moment of thought, Remus came to a decision. "Only a fool would be unable to see that our organization is insignificant as of now in the grand scheme of things. There are far larger and more powerful forces at work. We shall not pursue the mechanical spy, for Chaos knows whom he serves. All we can do is proceed with our prodding of the surrounding area to find out what lies in the immediate vicinity, and hope that our mysterious friend will not be hostile to the Primordial Creator's disciples. Prepare yourselves for an away team investigation. We should scout the surrounding area to make sure we aren't anywhere near a powerful enemy...." The Cultists set to work. (OOC: Preparing to get on the move, considering how inactive the Cult has been recently. Languishing in our outpost won't help our numbers.)
The Valhallans and Co. moved carefully as they got into the residential district, doing their best to stick to alleys and ruins, especially after Jurgen found tracks of a large force mulling about, which distressed Commissar Vail to no end. Finally they made it to what appeared to be a PDF outpost. The group hid in a blown out building close by and carefully scoped the outpost. As the robed figure walked away everyone ducked back down and gathered around Abigail. "Seems pretty undefended boss, we could probably just waltz right in and talk the place if that one guy isn't on our side." Ranald said as he poked his head out of cover, his finger hanging eagerly on the trigger to his lasgun. "Just because you can't see anyone else, doesn't mean their aren't any you dim grox." Anne hissed as she shifted uncomfortably, her injuries still bothering her somewhat. Griffin shot their newest medic a withering look before sighing, "Despite being a complete ass, the doc's right. Chances are if we just waltz right up, we'll be gunned down before you can say, 'For the Emperor.'" As some of the Guardsmen began discussing how to assault the Oupost the PDF Enforcer's exchanged nervous looks. "Um, ya know, we don't know if that's the enemy, they could be PDF or even other Guardsmen for all we know." Kolbe chipped in, hoping to avert the accidental killing of any more of his comrades. The decision seeming to come to a stalemate, everyone's eyes turned to Vail in hope she'd know what to do. Thankfully as they were 'strategizing' and bickering amongst themselves, Vail had time to think of something. "Since we're unsure of what we're dealing with, we'll prepare for both possibilities." She turned to her odorous second in command. "Jurgen, you'll take Ranald, Kolbe and Jinxie and quietly work your way towards the gates. Stay low, and don't be seen. Griffin, Ellen, Anne and I will try and talk to the troops in the outpost. If their friends, then we stroll on in. If not..." She pulled out her bolt pistol, switching off the safety. "Then we take it." There was silence for a moment as the plan sunk in, everyone trying to decide if it was genius or suicidal. But it was the only way to ensure they don;t kill friendlies without being killed themselves. With no other ideas or plans, everyone poured out into position, and Vail made her way near the opening of the gate, Ellen in front of her with the riot shield up and Griffin ready to open fire. "Greetings friends! Mind if we have a quick chat?" She called over the walls, hoping the response wouldn't be lasfire. OOC: Team Diplomacy: Vail, Grffin, Ellen (Doc is hiding) Team Shooty: Jurgen, Ranald, Jinxie, Kolbe (Hiding beneath wall of outpost, will fire if Vail is attacked)
The wasteland kings rolled their chimera into the junkyard district. Hund and poyo layed about the inside panting heavily from running around the inside of the Chimera ,jaeger sat back checking and learning his newest gun while kyko manned the turret. Venuz was checking the the lasgun arrays on the side while tam hummed an old tune and Icthcyis drove "finally got the hang a this" he said "we should start lookin' for something to do , either gas or supplies or even a scrap mate, our lads are chomping at the bit for some big plays" Tam commented as he fired his non loaded crossbow inside the Chimera the strung releasing a twang as Icthcyis shouted back into cabin "KYKO Use that turret to spy something worth our time" (OOC: cruising around the junkyard looking for useful scrap, food, or a fight preferably all of the above)
The battle was soon over there enemy now laying mostly in pools of there own blood all excsept for there leader who escaped like a coward looking over to there injured he began barking orders again "Theodas see what you can do to help doc She looks to need to have her breathing restarted, Seth Rin see what you can do to help get cogsworth bandaged take bandages out of docs bag and as soon as you get them both stable get both into the truck that includes you two Run, Gideon help watch over them as they work be ready to provide cover fire if anyone comes our way, there leader is likely fleeing and could be back with reinforcements. I will see if there's anything useful from our currently dead foes and leave the marks of war." Gunther said getting his warband working again as he went to look over the dead militiamen and guardsmen taking what would be useful for the gang. Approaching the dead he took out his maul to one dead body and began smashing it after removing there armor and arranging bones blood and limps into a aquilla that said one word under it. WAR Gunther would then go onto looking for anything useful before they would prepare to leave and begin looking for a place to rest for the night. Theodas was now working on Doc attempting to breath back life into through a method he had seen doc once do before called CPR, while Seth and Run began attempting to bandage cogswoth with Docs bandages Rin holding down a wound with her hand as Seth assisted on bandaging.
Ouroborous gathers around the manhole. They stare down at the locked round metal plate. They glance at each other gloomy, they know where they are. At crossroad, at the edge. They have a decision to make. "So they live under the earth." "Away from the hellscape or within another?" "In the uncharted tunnels of Sanctus. Miles upon miles of sewers, tunnels, railways, forgotten paths." "Not the first ones, nor the last." "People sought safety from the metros when the first bombs fell. Those who survived still seek." "And those who didn't, but yet still weren't released from this limbo, still roam there, forever cursing the living." ... ... ... "If we are to observe them further, we need to descend after them." "At which point we stop observing and become part of the history?" "We can't escape it, we are always part of it." "Do we have the right to entangle with them? "Is our involvement part of the cycle, or deviation of it?" "Are we observing or upkeeping the history?" "It is nothing new, unwritten, we have our past, under old symbols. Symbols we once worshiped. Standing under another symbol, does it make difference? Can we separate ourselves from this world? Aren't we all just couriers, walking the lonely road?" There was no vocal agreement in one way or another, but Ken still crouches over the manhole and inserts the access code. Gangs, factions, nations, they are all the same. It was their role to witness wherever this one would fall or rise.
@Azathoth @Keidivh The scouting team readied up relatively quickly as they took their equipment and the appropriate amount of supplies for an away mission. Ammunition would be no problem as their newly liberated armory was filled to the roof with supplies and as long as the cult wasn't waging a full scale war it could last them for many months, years even. But that would attract a lot of information if the information of such a large store were to get out into the city. In fact it seemed to already attract some attention as a small group of guardsmen lead by a female commissar came walking up to the front and called over the walls to meet someone. (The dice gods be a cruel bunch to make your two groups meet) @Grall_Stonefist After nailing the one of the bodies to the wall of the alley way the redemptionists would follow their newly mended map to the nearest of the settlements circled on their heretic’s map. The settlement itself wasn't very large having been constructed around transportation depot using the wreckage of buses to form a wall around the large building. From what they can see there is only one entrance in the way of a fortifiied break in the wall with several armed guards standing watch. Each of them is clad in looted riot gear and carrying a mixture of shotguns and las weaponry making them look somewhat offical despite the fact that they clearly weren't arbites enforcers. However they didn't look like savages either they simply looked to be doing their jobs guarding the entrance in fact some of them looked pretty bored. (Do what you want but I can't guarantee they will let you in) @Vulpas Gunther would not find anything particularly intresting on the bodies just the usual ammunition for their weapons and the weapons themselves. Their armor was heavily damaged in the fighting making it mostly useless besides as scrap materials. While this looting went on Theodas preformed CPR on Doc, he was sloppy and ill practiced but he must has done something right as Doc began breathing again though she remained unconscious. Next Seth and Rin bandaged up Cogsworth with little indecent despite Seth fumbling with the bandages at first. [Loot] 2x frag grenades 3x lasguns 12x scrap materials taken from destroyed weapons and armor. [Injured] Doc: Unconscious with a large Las bolt wound on her back, still alive but may be paralyzed Rin:Injured arm, is unable to use two handed equipment. Cogsworth: Bleeding stopped and still unconscious. @bossaroo The Chimera cruised along the garbage covered hills of the junkyard with relative ease as the vehicle was designed to forge throguh the most hostile of environments. They climbed one of the hills plowing through loosely stacked mounds of various useless prices of trash and debris to see a small valley in between the larger hills. In this valley sat a small village built out of the scrap found in the surrounding area. The locals appeared to be a mixture of sickly looking mutants of various descriptions and a few normalish looking humans walking around. (Stumbled across a small village. They haven't noticed you yet so do what you want.) @GoreWrencha The renegades climbed down the ladder into the depths of the city's labyrinth of a sewer system. Above them the hatch closed mechanically leaving then to descend in total darkness until Ken, who had gone down first, touched the ground with his feet. Once the entire group was properly situated in their new environment they would hear a shuffling sound and suddenly several bright lights were shone in their faces. "I suggest you put your weapons on the ground." The Sergeant from earlier said in a deep and heavily accented voice as his squad surrounded the group pointing their weapons at them. (You're group is surrounded and temporarily blinded)
walking somewhat close to the entrance, their weapons lowered, they did not come for war at this moment, but that dident mean silent, "REJOICE CHILDREN OF THE EMPEROR, HIS LORD GREAT REDEMTION IS HERE, NO MORE NEED TO FEAR THE HERETIC." Avilex started off, his arms raised to signify his own words, "LET THE REDEMTION INTO YOUR HEARTS AND WE CAN SAVE THIS PLANET"
