Just wondering if anyone is keeping a running total on faction numbers. Would love to see which faction has the largest population.

I don't think it counts at the moment, considering that characters can be completely changed at the player's whim.

Oh yeah, just interested in what peoples first choice was when they logged in. Think most people will have an alt anyway. It'd be nice watching the community grow as well.

Well from multiple "polls" both from contests and Founders Choices we've seen that Space Marines have the largest following. In terms of Founders, Space Marines cover nearly Half of the population.
But yeah, from what I said above, I think it's safe to say that Space Marines have the largest, then Chaos Space Marines, then Eldar and finally Orks.

I believe I saw in a thread yesterday that F2W will not be there for launch.
If it's not there, how will they kick off the F2P element.
And that's not even the biggest question, my worries is how will they then deal with Orks insane low population?

I know on Planetside before you join a server it shows you an overall total population percentages to the various factions. It's never 33% 33% 33%, and the factions with the lower pop rates gain experience bonuses.

A live-ish (five minute delay census?) of the accounts flagged as playing A B C D faction seems like it wouldn't be horribly hard to do and wouldn't be to laggy would it?

Also, thing I mentioned before with balancing and F2W not being there for launch. Here's where I got it from.

Where did @Sumshine know this from, that's all I'm wondering.
But if it's true, how the F are we going to deal with Ork balancing. Since we're(Orks.) "Apparently" the smallest of all factions, how will Ork faction even work on launch, lol.

The Devs may have shed some light on this somewhere, a source would be nice if anyone knew.
