The poll options are kinda biased, the weapons don't get per se useless. They are just not flexible enough to follow the Meta or the Playstyle. Still as you all know I am for Skins, but polls have to be fair As for really unique Sidegrades, I don't think thats acceptable in a 60$ game.
I added option 3 so people can state their views/opinions and agree/disagree. Anyway it's not really biased since you can side with or against the current setup or give your own thoughts. Anyway if you play battlefield 4 just imagine being given the choice of a m16 that has a unique skin and shoots lasers but is stuck with a 4x scope a laser dot sight a suppressor and a vertical grip and it costs 9.99. Then you have the standard that takes a little bit of play to unlock but then it has all of those slots free so you can customize the weapon based on the situation. I feel like you would be sacrificing gameplay in order to look good at that point because the default weapon is clearly superior just because the flexibility it has. If they made the default weapon stat locked I could see the system they have planned working. Think of it like TF2 that system works because ALL weapons at stat locked even the default. The weapons all have the same total value of stats but they shift between accuracy, damage, clip, movement while each one has a unique look. Anyways I can go on and on and on and on for hours on this topic but seriously I think they should reconsider what they currently have planned for the RTS unless they plan to stat lock the default weapons and just make the shop weapons have the same total stats but shift them around and I'll give 1 example below just to drive my point home. default bolter 250 total stats 25 damage per shot 45 clip 70 accuracy 25 recoil 60 rate of fire 25 range XXX pattern bolter *RTS* 250 total stats 40 damage 10 clip 80 accuracy 20 recoil 30 rate of fire 70 range The 2 weapons are both bolters but they are strategically different due to the stat shifts. One is much better as a short range weapon that you spray with while the other is more of a mid/long range weapon that is best used burst fire. Ok seriously I'm done now I'll post more later on if needed.
Relevant thread: Your preferred type of RTS Gear I don't think they'll be useless because horizontal progression, sidegrades, teamplay and skill. I never expected to use the RTS stuff forever and ever. In simplest terms, they'll be good when they're good and bad when they're bad. Example: A gun intended for close-medium range being used in a scenario that would favor long range. So players would either get to effective range of their weapons or switch weapons. Overall I'm fine with the current system and I would be fine with a cosmetic skin system too so long as it doesn't hide any modifications worth knowing. Either way I'll be playing the game and playing Fashion Souls.
It says in the description of each item that the weapon can be upgraded. So i dont think they are stat locked.
it appears that each weapon is partially stat-locked. Plus, I wouldnt call those descriptions entirely accurate when they dont even exist in any form beyond a drawing yet.
