Cause Terminators are not yet in-game, and I want to see the guy who will swing it in one hand. Maybe will, but only once, cause his biceps would explode. Even for a Marine.

Hmm....have you tried codex SM suplement clan Raukaan?Because according to that you can use them with one hand.And the reason they are used by TDAs and paired with shields is because of the way the power field of the hammer works(which works only on contact not like normal power weapons).

Really, only thing I need is my imagination, which tells me physics and "real" mentality, doesnt allow swinging weapon of such magnitude in one hand. Any Marine would kill himself if he did it. Two hands are more relaxed and actually its different in power as earth and heavens if you hold any weapon in two hands than one. In one hand, it as well makes you slower and I still dont care about codex if its unimaginable in-game or even real life.

Dunno bro the text says he uses ' a thunder hammer and power sword in unison.And lorewise marines are strong.
