Name: Commissar Jackruss Rackahm Equipment: Bolt pistol, power sabre, Rosarius, flak jacket, Rough riders horse for battles in non entrenched positions. Marks: A flak coat in the style of british expedition officers, scalp partly destroyed by shoota shell, it still looks red and raw but it is normally covered by his commissars cap. History: (Not sure which regiments are allowed, but here goes!) Jackruss is a veteran of many conflicts with orks and xenos, only recently was he sent to this front. Notorious for inforcing rigorous discipline, many cowards have fallen to his bolt pistol. However he is no slouch in melee either, having had to have fought with even nobs in some cases. Flaws: An unknown enemy: Although a skilled fighter against orks in particular, he has no experience against chaotic foes, no experience of resisting temptation. Chaos marines he has only seen in the briefings, so that might shiver him a bit. Draconian policies: His iron fist might be a bit too tight, he has shot men merely for fumbling a clip in combat. These and other grim tales do not exactly win over the men and make him even more feared and hated than a normal commissar. I can make him a bit more conventional if you like, thought that this might be fun though.
I like the added unfamiliarity to the ruinous powers of chaos. That has some interesting ideas and possibilities.
I'll see about starting the game off on Wednesday. That'll give some folks extra time to join in today
Name: Yuri De'Tortor Weapons: Chain Axe, Plasma Pistol, Witchfire Distinguishing Marks: Wears a patchwork of scavenged armor taken from his favored kills, mounted on his right shoulder is the skull of his former mentor who he still converses with. His face is pale and gaunt when unmasked, his body tattooed with shifting depictions of battles fought long ago. His helmet is that of a horned wolf. History: Having served with a visiting Librarian during the Great Crusade who came to become his mentor, Yuri unlocked his latent powers as a psyker, and has grown to be a master of Pyrokinetics since the end of the Heresy, a power he sees as a cleansing light. Though his brothers often criticize such direct manipulation of the Warp, during his time within the Eye of Terror, he sought out his friend and mentor Berin Akuze, studying under him as they searched for new technologies and power. On a venture into real-space, the small Warband was ambushed by a Dark Eldar raiding party while in search of Necron dampering tech. Weakened by a diminished Warp presence, Berin was decapitated by the xenos, a grudge Yuri will not soon forget. After extracting his mentor's gene seed, Yuri mounted his head on his right shoulder, claiming that through such a conduit his friend continues to advise him. The surviving members formed a sorcerer cabal and vowed to continue their path of enlightenment, though under Yuri's leadership they returned to the Eye to serve as mercenaries for larger Warbands whose goals aide their own. Flaws: -Paranoid, he is ever aware of potential threats against him, distancing allies and ready for a preemptive strike -Touched by the Warp, is very aware of the Warp's presence, regularly hears the whispers of higher daemons whose influence varies in nature, some seek to undermine his efforts with trickery, while others aide him, usually at a price.
Hope no one minds myself joining the fray so Alldoom isn't the only Imperial here! Name: Boreck "Iron Skull' Halks Rank: Veteran Sergeant Equipment: Bolt Pistol, Standard Combat Blade, Shotgun, Carapace Armor, Frak and Krak grenades (x2) 'Horse'(?)* Marks: Boreck Halks doesn't stand out much from the rest of the other faceless meat shields in the Imperium. All around average below the neck with his only notable feature being a sheet of metal grafted on over the top right side of his scalp and an Imperial Aquila branded onto said metal. History:Boreck Halks has served with his regiment since it's inception into the Imperial Guard and is as much a natural born survivor, like most who come to lead in the Guard, as he is a cold blooded killer. During one of the regiments encounters with the brutish Greenskins a Chimaera transport he and his men were riding in was ambushed by Tankbustahs and the vehicles destruction lead to shrapnel shearing off a fair portion of his head and the subsequent metal graft that helped keep his head armored in place of his damaged skull. Flaws: Unknown Enemy-** Like the rest of his brothers in arms Boreck hasn't been tested by the forces of Chaos...yet. Watching You- Paranoid to the extreme due to his upbringing and his own thirst for power Boreck tends to hold his own troops in contempt and views them as threats just as great as his foes and tends to orchestrate unfortunate ends if any of them look like promising aspirants for the Leadership. *The Horse thing is tentative under the idea that if this is a home brew Regiments of sorts for this very Rp then it may or may not be part of tradition and training of the home world it was created on. If that's just a unique Jackruss thing in the end though then disregard it for Boreck. ** Same deal if this is all the same home brew regiment it would only make sense for Boreck to have the same experiences, or lack thereof, as the Commissar.
I'm liking the idea of an Imperial world that uses horses. I'll work that in the story. Likewise, the idea of unfamiliarity for the Regiment to anything outside the Orks. Oh the little grey cells are brewing now >:3
This is the regiment I was talking about and my commissar is from, If you don't like victorian space brits then don't be from my regiment Deran, just fair warning http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Praetorian_Guard#.U1fNeyhZGfQ
