Question what year will we be in?
  2. Uriel1339 Uriel1339 Lord of Posts

Name: Duriel (see what I did there @matt23 ?)
Class: Scholar (former Scribe [Chapter Serf to the Librarium])
    Rank: Former Sanguine Templar Serf
    Age: 57
    Height: 2.0 meters

    Appearance:
Duriel's most distinctive features is his wrinkled face that shows the stress that humans go through from the attempt to become an Astartes, and the sort of 'training' they go under. Worth of note are also his fangs that are a side-effect from the genetical operations he received during his youth at the Sanguine Templars. And nonetheless his age might be rather progressed, he is not a man one easily approaches or tries to rob. In fact none would guess he was a scholar, spending most his time with dusty books. Massive bones and muscles were forcing him to get custom robes, and while he had the physique of a soldier, he wore often glasses to make it easier to read which made him an even more awkward appearance.

    Scars/Tattoos:
Names inscribed from left hand up to his entire arm, in crimson red as it was actual blood written into him. His right arm is untouched from ink, however bears a huge burned scar on the upper side of his lower arm. His entire back is scarred from what seemed slashes.

    Clothes:
Even if he may not belong to the Sanguine Templars anymore, the hypnotherapy withstood the test of time and there was still a love for tones of red. Which would mean that it was not unusual to see him in crimson robes or other red colored uniforms. Even if it means to paint standard flak armor. There are certain things a Serf just cannot shake off. And the love for red was one of those things.

    Equipment:
Duriel utilizes a long scepter that serves also as walking cane. It bore a ruby (what else) on it's tip and had other than that no special features. The grip and staff was wooden but had a rather fine looking ornamental carving. The 'claw' holding the ruby in place was an iron plated with gold, which any expert could spot easily and see it was not of much value. He had an Autopistol on him, even though Duriel was not much of the shooting kind. And a gift from an old friend, a zig-zag dagger, many would think it might be a weapon for rituals - and perhaps it was?

Homeworld: Rhineheim (Civilized World in the Segmentum Obscurus)

    Background:
Duriel grew up with an entire other name before his attempted ascendance. A name that the hypnotherapy long eradicated, so he may not even seek his family as an adult. He was born and raised on Rhineheim, a civilized world in the Segmentum Obscurus, not too far from Fenris. He was only eight years old when a chaos cult started a worldwide uprising. There is no memory anymore left of the events of what happened to the young boy, all he remembers was that he was chained on a rock, perhaps table, and there was blood... Then... A human face, but the human was much bigger, stronger, taller, with glowing orange eyes. They took him away from home. And after that... Training. Day in, day out - Training. To the point of physical and mental exhaustion. Only a few hours of sleep a day, often woken up in the middle of the night for exercise and without warning.

Without making really friends, being the weakest of them all and continuously demanding to return home... The Astartes only treated him much harder. Duriel knew there was no going back. One night he overheard how they talked that only a hundred or so from Rhineheim were be saved. When he tried to find out if his parents were amongst them, he was caught and whipped day and night, which caused scars that still are on his back to the day.

By the age of seventeen they were forced to attempt to turn Duriel into an Astartes, having received a rather big loss in Astartes. Nobody had faith he would make it, rightfully so. The Apothecary focused rather on other kids in that time, better prospects and more critical, future Space Marines. And in fact, from all that were ascended, he was the only one who failed. Not even being trusted to operate weapons or aid elsewhere on the ship, he was put in the chapter's libraries to help writing history, sort books and occasionally help the librarians to catalog alien artifacts.

Duriel did his duty vigilantly for twenty or so years, picking up all sort of skills from reading and putting them to the test. Some of them are first-aid, High Gothic, Low Gothic dialects, reading maps, some imperial history and other things. Everything but combat seemed to come easy to him. Eventually during an attack that was to steal one of the artifacts they had, he was abducted as 'insurance' to make a safe retreat. The Sanguine Templar managed to retrieve the artifact, but not Duriel. Being useless to the crew, they sold him off at the closest pirate station where he one day was discovered and recruited by Rogue Trader Xander, serving him as a scholar ever since. During these adventures he actually did manage to make a handful of friends, including one who gave him a special knife a a gift once.

Duriel was actually one of my go-to nicknames inspired by Diablo 2 before later on I adapted Uriel after having read McNeill's novels. Other 'Uriel' that sound good:

    Buriel (Burry-el)
    Furiel (Fury-el)
    Huriel (Hurry-el)
    Juriel (Jury-el)
    Curiel (Curry-el)
    Puriel (Pure-y-el)
    Luriel (Lure-y-el)
    Turiel (Tour-y-el)

    Homeworld: Krieg
Background: Once apart of the 488th Siege regiment, they were aboard an Imperial vessel in transit to a warzone to fight and die in the name of the Emperor in the mud of some world fallen to the sway of the Ruinous powers. During one of the fleets scheduled stops to pick up more regiments from a orbiting station, a Tyranid splinter fleet was detected on sensor drifting directly towards the station and fleet.

The xenos fleet was small but they still pose a dangerous threat to the fleet, defending mostly by a couple of cruisers and smaller escort ships. The fleet formed a line and the guardsmen were pressed into a new battle without having to even leave the ships, acting as defenders in the inevitable moment they were boarded. Being the only danger in the area, the bioships went directly to the imperial ships, latching on with chitinous claws and acidic tendrils to disgorge their ravenous payloads directly into the holds of the ships. Even with no real training for repealing boarders, the bayonet drills of Krieg made up for it.

Between the Kriegs' skills in close quarters combat and setting up killing fields in corridors with numerous heavy weapons, the tyranids had to pay in the hundreds to gain every inch they clawed. As the fighting went on, Elysie and other Quartermasters did what was expected of them, to seek the wounded and do what needs to be done and retrieving equipment so they do not lose supplies. Due to the nature of their foe, they were charged with retrieving or destroying of corpses to deny the enemy of resources as well. Going from front to front made by the Kriegers, collecting the dead, their material, rendering aid, and giving the Emperor's peace to the suffering, she often had to fight off hormagaunts and rippers for them.

In one corridor a screamer-killer carnifex came barreling down on the fortified barricade in spite of the fullside of heavy bolters and las rounds, spewing green burning plasma from its toothy maw. While other guardsmen of other regiments would scatter and retreat in the face of such savagery, the soldiers of Krieg charged at the monstrous creature with bayonets and krak grenades. Grabbing a melta bomb from a fallen soldier, and still on fire on the left side of her face, she shoved the fusion charge into a bleeding would in the chest of the Carnifex. The explosion of the charge also ignited the bio plasma sac, creating a much larger effect than one would have first thought. It cleared the corridor of most living things while she was fortunate enough to only be slammed against the wall and be knocked out then buried under corpses of human and xenos.

Finally coming around later on, she simply pushed off the corpses, assessed the area around her, and went to inform her superiors of the events that had transpired like it was just another battle. During her unconsciousness, the battle had finally gone in the Imperial's favor after the arrival of a patrolling fleet. In the end thought, many of the regiments were wiped out by the Tyranids after being boarded which also included her own. Due to a munitorium error, Eylsie was assigned to the space station as the stations inventory clerk. Taking this assignment like any other, she was on the station for a number of years before rouge trader Xander showed up. Seeing an oppurtunity to have someone who follows orders without question, medical experience, and knack for inventory and supply managing, he greased some wheels within the station. Suddenly she was given a new assignment, to serve Rouge trader Xander.

Hope I didn't go too overboard with this. :p

Seems like being some Serf is so awesome of an idea, it got stolen :p Well so much for me being rather unique... Surprised she even got into the Death Watch, especially at that age, but I guess she is just that good.

I can changen it if needed have a few older characters could bring back from rps that never got fully finished. Could even try to bring back Damian or korgoth or even the sister I hads in derans o!d sister of battle rp.

Though i am unsure if bringing strickter loyalists would be a good idea or a scout that is branded a renegade. Wanted to see if it was possible to make someone who could possibly eventually become a artificer.

Also didn't want to go full blown marine to take up power slot
