The sound of brandishing adamantium against adamantium shrieked in the air in the not-so-tight confines of the Aquilla lander as Magos stepped in, his step heavy on the deck under his considerable weight. He seemed mostly the same as before...except for the fact that he came armed this time. A tall (taller then the hunched Magos) staff with a toppled Cog Mechanicus a half human - half mechanical skull.Wires trailed from it to the body of the staff and at moments fizzle of electricity would dance away from the base of the staff and the metal deck of the drop-ship.Who knows what else Magos has under his voluminous robes. Noticing that Raven Guard still brandished his lightning claws he boarded the passenger bay and stood in the middle his backs turned to the upper deck where cockpit was situated. Regarding the men gathered here,he took special note of the Guardsman that was by Landon`s instruction suppose to guard him.Seemed preposterous considering his trappings. Was Lord Xander down on his luck and could not afford a better bodyguard...or was he worth so little to the Rogue Trader? His optics rotated by nighty degrees in the shadow of his hood before he spoke: "Gentlemen...the four others are not coming.Lord Xander decided to give us this drop-ship to use for our team during the length of the mission.I presume the other team will use another." As the doors closed and engines started igniting Magos extended his left hand forward. His metal fingers twitched a bit and a half-globe clanked on the celling of the passenger bay before spatting out a blue grainy image of a terrain showing soaring high towers behind several layers of monstrously-high walls. "Judging by atmospheric scans the density of population of this city as well as influx of trade and volume of communication networks I discern that this is either a capital city or a city of extreme import as largest on the planet. As such it carries the highest chance of finding the information we seek. The city is also big enough to allow us to utilize our approach as previously instructed by you, Lord Astartes. The effectivness of law enforcement is greatly hampered by its poorly maintained infrastructure and volume of its population.Especially in the regions that are farther from the spires." His fingers twitched again and the hololithic projection zoomed into the given image to a particular part of the city situated in the section outer-walls that seemed like an industrial zone.Zooming further to a rectangular complex of a four-story building with a wide-enough inner-countyard for a bulky Aquilla to land, Magos pointed with his metal index-finger at the projection and the building was highlighted in sickly green color. "Lack of life-forms and communication indicate that this structure is abandoned or fully automized though the later is unlikely. It would be perfect as a current base of operation until we find what we seek."spoke Magos as he sat in a harness next to Abel to the Raven Guard: "Questions?Vast amounts of data were siphoned to obtain this information...my hopes are that this plan is suitable. After all...I am no warrior." His servo-skull buzzed to life next to him as its right pict-eye shone to life in a red glow. @Uriel1339 @Vulpas @matt23
+ @Vulpas & @matt23 "A few. First of all. Who of us is in charge? We all work under Xander on our own terms equally. But someone has to be in lead, someone who makes the tough call. I don't care to be that man, I don't care if our Martian friend here wants to play the role." Landon gestured to Magos Zeth. "I concur with the base of operations. I do not want to return to orbit anytime soon, which means we will need basic local supplies or find ways to survive. I am certain that I can steal some basic supplies such as food, water and ammunition. Which would leave the rest of you with scouting the area. But I won't do that until day 2 of our operation. I actually would like you to, Abel and Zeth to traverse the streets as foreign travellers and get a bit information of the casual folk here. While Vex and I will work on higher valuable targets." The Raven Guard rose from his seat. "You do not happen to have any data on something equivalent of an Imperial Palace or military headquarters, do you venerable Magos?" Landon grinned at the crimson robed individual as he put his helmet on.
Amadeus Veldt arrives at the hangar in his khaki-colored jungle uniform, discussing with the Warrant Officer. "So all your men are too busy with their jobs? I understand. Thank for your assistance, we'll have to relay on the locals then." He leaves the crew-officer and marches to the landing craft he assumes has been prepared as secondary ship for them since the teams split up. "Now what's this, then? Our friends already took their leave? I had prepared for mutual departure, but time is thrones goes in this case too. Rightio chaps, may I suggests that we head towards more sparsely populated areas to cover more ground? Other team focuses on the possible technology locals use, while we search for the technology even they have forgotten and left buried under vegetation. How's that sounds?" Veldt proposes his plan. He carries gun bag on his back, its strap resting on his right shoulder. On his back the small power generator hums idly. As he looks around the hangar, large case totters after him steps behind him, small legs visible under it.
Noting that the Astartes still used the designation (which she presumed was due to his nature as someone who's experiences were likely to be much shaped by unending war), Theta-Xi nodded to acknowledge the advice about keeping that pair separate unless she wanted them to be nothing more than nuisances throughout the mission. Even if it perhaps meant enacting a plan as crude as getting a shock collar for both of them then zapping them whenever either of the pair tried to needle the other. Meanwhile, the response she had received from the Magos wasn't surprising at all, given that it would be a reasonable assumption that her disclosure of who she worked for might have rattled his spirits. Still, the delightful diversion of idle talk was not preparing for the mission and so the Tech-Guard departed from the briefing room to prepare for her part of the trip. Said preparations involved nabbing a backpack, which was promptly filled up with bullets for the Macrostubblers (which went through ammunition like Kubrik Chenkov went through guardsmen) and clothing of the "Bodyglove + red robe" description, just in case there was a need for Karinitha to get out of her armour and appear to be nought more than a civilian, such as more espionage-related work. Needless to say, she was hoping that food and water would not become issues down on the surface... Then again, she did had a digestive system that could filter out toxins. Aside from a backpack filled to the brim with ammo and some clothes buried somewhere inside, there wasn't anything else to take apart from a pair of chainswords which could prove useful for a more visceral method of removing someone from the picture. Once packed and ready to go, the Skitarius headed out to hanger and once she had arrived, duly noted that there were two of them on hand.... And the Noble was standing by the likely vacant one. Sighing internally at having to work with a pair of people who she frankly though needed to get a bloody room and work out their issues, and a hunting obessed Noble. Arriving to hear Veldt suggesting that they go look in the vegetation for lost technology, Karinitha then replied "That sounds like a convenient excuse for you to have a hunting trip. I would say we at first look at what technology the locals use first, and go digging into the planet's history to see if such a hypothesise would have reasonable grounds such as a atomic war in their recent history. Then if it turns out that there were recent events that would make such a form of lost technology a viable hypothesise, we go into the more rural areas to start searching for anything they might have left in the dirt." Taking a pause, the Skitarius then said "And if there is nothing to suggest that technology lurks within the dirt of the planet, we shall remain in the urban areas to both assist the other team and run our own investigation into their technology. Are we clear on the plan of action, Veldt?" Having said that, she then fell silent, hoping that the Psyker and Mutant would turn up soon so that this likely horrible 'adventure' could be over and done with.
After that awkward and very brief chat with the uhh thing named Vex Marcus made his way to the hanger. But unfortunately got turned around when his vision momentarily went blurry and he couldn't read any of the signs. Just a small side effect of mixing the pain meds with copious amounts of alcohol and general lack of sleep. After an undisclosed amount of time he did manage to find his way to the lander but was somewhat confused to only see the admech woman and the pompous noble hunter. "Sorry I'm late my vision's turned blurrier than the line between enthusiasm and insanity around here." He said as he sat down in the lander and placed his bag into the appropriate compartment. He then took off his helmet so he could rub his eyes, while it didn't really help it have him it was better than trying to discern shapes with eyes that even a drunk man would say are too blurry. Since there was a distinct lack of an insane woman silently stabbing him through her eyes he also assumed Tyesha had not made it yet. "So, anyone see Tyesha after they left to grab their things?" He said still rubbing his eyes secretly hoping they would leave without her.
@Uriel1339 @Vulpas @High_Adept_Zeth Abel took a long drag from his lit lho-stick, before shrugging, "I care very little for who is in charge here. I know what I need to do, just need someone to point to where. As for doing this little blending in stuff, sure. Why not? It has been some time since I have mingled with any form of populas."
After the meeting had concluded and Tyesha was finished having her fun tormenting some of the crew mates, she headed back to her own personal room. It was surprisingly, well, quaint. Little furnishing or decorations, only a few books on Witchcraft (Which she was sure wouldn't be a problem on an Inquisitors ship), her family staff, a duster hat, and a small portrait containing the oddest looking group one would ever see, each bearing a Black Hand somewhere on their clothes or body. She picked up the frame, running her hands softly across the glass before kissing it gently and hugging it tight against her. "Wish me luck loves, off on another mission! Hope I don't die on this one." She said with forced cheer before putting it down. Welp, time to get myself all dolled up. And she did so with surprsing speed, undressing and putting on her sleek and well fitted hunting rig. It truly was a marvel. So light, seeming to be cloth thing, yet it provided impressive protection. Even fed her! Sweet thing it was. She inserted her mono-knife back into the suit, letting it flip into the left wrist. From her right the mono-sword came out, its deadly shimmering form reflecting dull light of the room. And just as quickly it retracted. They were beautiful weapons, but she missed her old arsenal... Within a minute she had her flowing dress back on her, picking up a small satchel to carry any tech she came across. And her little Black Pearl, who popped her head out of the bag. "Time for another adventure my jewel." @TuskatheDaemonKilla @Maleth @GoreWrencha It wasn't long before the ex-witch caught up with the rest of her group. The Skitarii girl, the pompous trophy hunter Rose, and the grox-sucking Wanderer. A smirk appeared on her face when she heard him ask about her, and got very close behind him before speaking. "Missing me already love!? No worries, we'll be stuck with each other for a while." She gave a somewhat forceful slap on the back with her bionic hand before getting caught up on the plan, giving an approving nod to the Skitarii's plan. "Glad to hear we'll be in civilization then, wouldn't be to many people for me to charm out in the wilderness." She didn't need to pack anything as her suit provided her with all the sustenance she needed, which meant she got to travel light. A good perk considering speed was what kept to alive.
@Keidivh @Maleth @GoreWrencha The rather forceful slap accomplished nothing other than alerting Marcus to Tyesha's presents and by instinct drew his wrist blade and aimed it at her neck the blade itself coming within an inch of her skin. He was still rubbing his right eye with his right hand and stared at her for a few seconds. He then retracted the blade and went back to rubbing his eyes trying to get them to work properly. The idea of ignoring her existence when she was within eye or ear shot of him still stands and he wasn't about to break it. "I feel I'd stick out like a sore thumb in an urban environment but I guess Xander did say any methods were acceptable but a blood bath would take too much time so I'll hang around as security more or less." He said looking at the woman skitarius not acknowledging Tyesha at all. He wasn't much of a people person anyways, not that he didn't like people, people are just fine he just didn't mind being alone.
"Oh my, it seems that you have formed a misguided understanding of regular old me. I'm here not for the leisure trip you are assuming, instead I'm here to offer my experience as seasoned adventurer and patron of exploration. This isn't the first time I am helping Adeptus Mechanicus seeking lost technology, on the Allegae I was part of the expedition to discover the lost ruins of ancient manufacturium. I have some interesting stories from there if you want to hear them." Amadeus Veldt defends himself. He might not be aware of it, but he buffs out his chest lightly as he speaks. The Baron has his honor and questioning his usefulness, intentional or not, chips his pride. "Yes, we are clear. You are correct that we are more likely to find the technology being used by the natives rather than buried in the wilderness. But that is what makes it lost in the first place. I would have spend first weeks within civilization anyway, preparing for the exploration of the wilderness. One does not simply walk into unknown unprepared." Veldt agrees to Karinithas counter-suggestion. There was no need to argue and behave like the two others of their small group. "Ah yes, seems that we all are ready and gathered. Shall we embark our vessel? Tally ho." Behind Veldt small native looking boy emerges under the large crate he was carrying. It is simply dressed and quickly glances others before lowering its head at sight of the Skitarii. Looking any closer at the boy reveals it has been generously blessed by the Cult Mechanicus, least half of it's body augmented.
@TuskatheDaemonKilla "This one is named Clara Northwind from Vespia she is a explorer and a collector of nick nacks and technology." Vex said to Marcus as it entered the lander its team was on. @Uriel1339 @matt23 @High_Adept_Zeth Vex listened and watch on as the magos showed were they maybe landing and headlong to when lando addled the question on who to lead. "Welp personally I am not the leading sort of person more of the hire and get a job done, As I see it lando personally you or the Magos should lead you being older then most of us, and could likely talk to us through our com beads whuile being in the shadows." Vex said saying its two cents about the situation.
