Abel laughed a moment thinking to himself and took another drag off the lho-stick, "Ex-military, previously of the Tanith First and Only regiment. However, I suppose a mercenary could also do as well. It is more my Ex-military lifestyle that makes me curious I suppose."
As the walked down the plaza the lamppost next to them twitched on and off as they passed it by.As if in response the tophead of the Magos`s staff flickered brief static. That made Lomax stop in his tracks. "Ex-military?I see..." "To answer your previous question...yes.The lack of information on this most crucial mission is for the lack of the better word - killing me.But it seems we`ll have to improvise..."spoke Lomax and if the shadow that was cast by his hood were not so thick, Abel would see that the ancient man before him was actually smiling. "Luckily I just found a way to alleviate this.Abel...as a curios man yourself, would you help me apprehend that passer-by.He seemed to have some sort of cranial augmentation judging by the wires and the bulkiness at the back of its head?Restrain it and drag it down the adjacent street.Judging by the city urban plan it seems to be riddled with dark alleys and dead ends." spoke Lomax as he pointed with his left arm that had his index finger and two fingers next to it, sheated in metal form.He pointed at the figure ahead of them about some twenty meters. "I`ll provide cover of darkness for you.Make sure not to alert anyone." said Zeth as he suddenly lashed out with his staff at the lamppost with suprising agility, piercing the metallic overlay of its body. Embedding into the nest of wires beneath, the entire plaza blacked out as all the lampposts shut down. All the energy was re-routed and Magos`s right sleeve started shining from inside as if his head was the source. His optics were intensified in their red glow and spits of electricity danced from the top of the staff and spat snaking arcs on the cobblestone at their feet. "Hurry Abel." spoke Lomax his voice strained in effort. OOC:Can someone please GM this little encounter.I need a GM on this NPC that Abel is about to kidnap. And I`ll be damned if I`ll wait a week for @TechCaptain to respond to this.
@High_Adept_Zeth Abel quickly used the shadows that Lomax provided. He moved around to the back of the stranger, and attempted to cover the stranger's mouth, to keep from screaming, and pick it up with his arm around the waste. He would then, if successful, drag them to the nearest ally to await Lomax, for the little experiment.
The first thing that came to Theta-Xi's attention after the ride down to the planet was the fact that other forms of life other than humans, like the walking trees and the animals that bore a resemblance to the Terran dog were present, given that the Skitarius was expecting to find purely humans rather than human-ish life coexisting with such odd forms of life. Of course, the dramatic architectural differences also raised the suspicion that the other forms of life were Xenos which could indicate technology tainted by the hands that created it. Alas, there was a task to do even if it could shift into a task of removing the Alien technology, given sufficient cause to suspect the technology that brought them here was not of human origin and so needed urgent removal. Thoughts of how the mission could shift aside. there was the small matter of what to do next, so Karinithia replied to their Witch (@Keidivh ) "As far as I am concerned, investigating the local records and history should be our main task, rather than random acts of 'trouble making'... Given the strangeness of life here, I would like to ascertain that such a development will not affect our search for what we seek."
In the 'palace' As the heart beat of the balding finance officer that the astartes has skyrocketed an alarm went off throughout the place. Apparently he was wired, and that the Astartes chose poorly as the man started babbling something in another language. On the streets As the guardsmen captured an humanish person the man with obvious augmentations colapsed as he fainted from fright. The man was skinny and in what could be a business suit.
(OOC: GM approved) Marcus made his through the sparse forest quickly and quietly making sure he made as little sound as possible while also keeping a decent pace. He would come to a stop when he reached the very edge of the forest and hid behind a rather large and old tree and looked to see the village itself. It was small with only a few dozen buildings which in themselves were quite diverse ranging from single story houses for the smaller beings to much larger ones with several stories. The multitude of strange creatures walking the streets did confuse Marcus to an extent but he tried not to dwell on it as he had to job to do. He observed the inhabitants closely trying to identify a language while also looking out for any kind of law enforcement. He saw on the side walk next to a paved road a group of strange creatures were conversing. Two of them looked somewhat human albeit with primitive looking enhancements and strangely enough mutations of some sort. While another looked to be part canine and a forth was one of the walking trees. "Hell by this rock's standards I'm the normal one." He said to himself as he edged a bit away from the tree so he could hear them better but not enough so that they could see him.
"The Magos is going to love that... A whole language to discover. Well I fear, you must be step one in my learning experience." Landon said in low gothic, a grin across his face, however hidden beneath his helmet. Still. Slowly he removed the helmet from his head and attached it to his waist. He wanted his first victim of this world to look him into the face, see the void and darkness in his pitch-black eyes, the pale face and onyx-black hair. "I wanted to interrogate you. But all I need well... Is your brain." With one Lightning claw he pointed at the bald creature, with the other to his own head before approaching him with a Blitz Attack. The Astartes rushed in and wanted to ram his Claw straight through the throat of the administrator, all he needed was the brain - after all. And a head would be more ... Compact to transport than an entire corpse.
As Abel subdued his target and dragged it as previously designated to the nearest dark, hopefully abandoned alley, Lomax`s servo-skull followed him. Pinging back that to its master, Magos shivered as his quite luminous augmentations shimmered beneath his robe. With the signal received from his servo-skull he disloged his staff from the lamppost with a shriek of metal and suddenly light returned to the plaza. Following after Abel`s footsteps, avoiding public places as best as he could, Magos found the Guardsman in quite dark alley, having his captive slumped against a wall, unconscious. "Very good...and it is already unconscious. That would make this easier.Keep guard while I am done here." said Lomax as he came next to the humanoid, observing with keen interest its form.Exploration mechadendrite came above the humanoid, lighting up its glow-lamp and shining it upon its bulbous head.Stabbing into the cobblestone his staff he crouched next to the slumped form of the humanoid. "This augmentation..." whispered Magos deep in thought. His servo-skull buzzed around him, and if by his invisible beackoning it levitated downward, scanning with red laser-light that came from its glowing socket, dragging the scanner across the form of the poor man. As the scan was complete a golden wireframe filled Lomax`s vision and he studied it with a fleeting glance of a genius, able to digest vast quantities of data. Taking the victims head into his own hands, he observed the back of specimen`s skull.Glow-lamp shut down and snaked to the man`s right arm, a needle protruding from the dendrite and stabbing, taking into the tissue, bone and blood sample. As the organics flew down the mechadendrite and into the empty chambers at Magos`s back, rudimentary scans were perform as to the composition of the specimen. Early findings were already snaking into the Magos`s vision as he protruded a electro-graft from his index finger of his left arm and stabbed it into the cranial augmentation of their victim, scavenging for useful data like a lowly data-predator of Mars.
"To the Archives it is then! Wherever they are." Veldt declares pipe in his hand. He buffs out cloud of smoke few times as he fells silent into thought. "Well, finding it can't be that difficult. All the Archives I have seen have been great buildings. Every civilization keeps knowledge valuable. We just head towards highest landmark we see from here and fathom from there on. We are bound to meet someone who can help us at least. As extraordinary the local life seems, they don't look hostile." Veldt voices his thoughts after a while. Getting familiar with the world and locals should be their first priority, assuming they don't need to set up a camp in defensible location. They are still just a mere handful of individuals on foreign world, preparations are most important before they do anything hasty. Par of Lord Astartes maybe, he can no doubly survive on any environment and situation. There is certain uneasiness Amadeus can't shake of until he is familiar with the land and has a retinue around him.
@High_Adept_Zeth Though Abel did not like being ordered around by some magos who was more robot than human, he did comply. He moved out towards the mouth of the dark ally way and kept watch while Lomax conducted his experiments.
