I haven't gotten the drum yet, but I am quite sure it's a net gain in damage. I might try out the Dead Shiny when I get it, since the increased accuracy it gets helps to offset the downside of the damage mod
it's okay but most of the fighting happens around a point anyway. That said, dead shiny can work well with a scope.
