One of the Sorcerous Ones was in the midst of some ritual. Satharn didn't understand it, and he had it obscured by the sinuous dance of Echidna's greeting anyway. So it seemed they both wanted Zadkiel. It would be interesting whom Zadkiel would choose. And as interesting whom he didn't. "Heh." He grunted in response to the non-handshake. "Canny. Good. Krax. We'll get along famously." For all his sarcastic tones the Night Lord meant it. Working with simpletons never suited him. This one was smart. The other ... She swayed like a willow, like a lamia, and Satharn wasn't sure which analogy suited him least. The thing with the followers of the Lord of Pleasure was that they always wanted. Wanted things he didn't understand. Satharn had an urge to see if she would weave quite such a lovely dance with a broken spine. But it was at war with an urge to protect. A memory surfaced, a tall, slender woman in a long silver dress, the satin against his face as she set him down again. Big boys don't cry, Satharn. I'll be back soon. Be good for your nanny. He felt a strange sort of revulsion welling up in his gut. He shook his head, the servos in the neck joint growling discordantly. The memory vanished. He was VIIIth Legion. He was not on Nostramo. He was here. Then it all fell into place, like tumbling dominoes. She was not weak - weakness disgusted the Night Lord - she was giving the appearance of not being a threat. The actual words hardly mattered. The eyes, the posture that said 'command me and I will obey'. It was a lie, of course, but it was the right lie at the right time. He had to respect that. "He shan't touch a hair of your head," he said, grinning ferally once more.
"No order was given to terminate." Dyson said flatly. Noticing they weren't the only onces making for the med-bay. 'Do they seek to interfere in our objective? They do not know the head Nurse as I do... I wish I didn't know.' Some things take longer to forget than others. "Increase our speed, we have pursuers."

"Soooo.... Killing an Astartes, eh? I hope you don't intend on killing me." He chuckled and turned to the Night Lord. "The skinning work.... That was actually an acid that was developed to only burn off the skin, leaving everything beneath intact." The man stood tall and placed his hands on his waist.
"You absolutely, positively, must share that formula with me then", an excited Echidna exclaimed, emphasizing the 'must' with played-up enthusiasm. However, her words were sincere - she'd been slacking on basic chemistry ever since she left the Martian fold and would love to take any opportunity possible to expand her knowledge. "I hope it is quite painful..." She looked at Minotaur, and mulled over what effect it could have on him. The alabaster colossus, staring mindlessly at the twisting shape of its mistress, and then, into the distance, had mostly been denied his true potential due to the Slaaneshi being unwilling to disfigure him much. But removing his skin meant removing nerve tissue - without nociceptors he'd certainly be even tougher. And a new, fleshcrafted, frightening visage? As well as more overt augmentation? It would certainly expand her canvas... but then again, she liked him somewhat human-like. Her eyes wandered over to Zadkiel, wondering whether his stated fear was genuine. No... he certainly wouldn't fear them. Or would he? One certainly didn't get far in the ranks of Chaos worshippers when freely stating ones fears and weaknesses. Still suspended by her Mechadendrites, she stopped her undulating movement to take on a sitting position. The curious part, she thought, putting a finger on the small, invisible cleft in her lower jawbone that wasn't reflected on her chin, is that it is not just him. Brutalus and Tem are both a bit too amiable for my taste. Tem in particular... just what had he just meant? Echidna had chosen to ignore the Night Lord's comment, too, but it bothered her somewhat. Mostly because it did not sound like sarcasm. It made the inquisitive mind wonder for the reason. Usually people like her inspired disgust at most in Astartes. Maybe the demigods did have layers.
@lord-watchman @DaKaptin @DeathKorpsOfKrieg @Vulpas The gruff and certain reply from Dyson set a wave of anger down Grythan's spine, a pleasant if unwelcome sensation, to be barely registered by one so artless was an affront to his pride. Grythan had no trouble keeping the anger out of his visage though having expected such a reply and he joined the little troupe as it headed towards the Med-Bay easily keeping pace with the others. As they walked, Grythan kept a few paces behind Dyson and the Apothecary, he double-checked his weapons for the inevitable battle that was to come. Why else would we be sent to secure it? He thought. A wicked grin crossed his face as his mind went through the possible combats ahead. Imagining the thunderous roar of guns and the glorious cacophony of his sword cleaving through foes was another pleasant distraction, but it was nothing compared to the real thing. He didn't have to enjoy the company of the stone-faced Dyson and the over-enthusiastic Apothecary, he just had to get the job done and perhaps he may even enjoy himself while doing it.
OOC: Uriel gave us the option of going with the Secutor or going by ourselves. It appears we have chosen.
Argyle considered the nature of a warp portal for a moment, considering that wasn't such a blasphemy of the immateriums powers he looked to the Sorceress. "Yes, lets make that happen and get to our hunt, the sooner the better. "
ogreten stepped through and noticed the glow that identified where the eldar was and pointed the khobtae and the reat towards the eldar
"I can probably sense them yes, but I would't be surprised if they have their own psyker to hide their minds from detection." Redeger responded fairly neutrally, thankful that he wasn't the only human pysker there. The astropath was about to protest, but realized it would be more like suicide to intervene. In fact, as Argyle held the eldar aloft, it started to get harder and harder to keep control of it's mind. Almost a feeling of pins and needles in his mind as the khornate would notice that his collar buzzed somewhat and the once robotic puppet went limp and then struggled as the human relinquished control. If that meathead wanted an eldar he could have his damn eldar! He had to admit, that was impressive. But he was doing perfectly fine without all that chaos magic, he had seen when it went wrong and what happened. Generally the psyker survived, if you call a boneless feathered blob a living thing. "Thank you, I don't believe I ever caught your name?" He looked at the others, though his gaze slid off them, like magic one might say. Current time "Yes of course, a portal is fine." Though he was slightly worried by her tone of voice, one so powerful as her psychic signature should never be so... Chirpy, without a reason. He just hoped they would walk ou the other side as the same species and with the same amount of limbs as before.
