just to add another weapon to the bar: chaos has a poisonous chainsword... two fast hit attacks and you're gone... adding the agility of a raptor... just saying...
I haven't had a clang off them since the Sept 29 patch (either pitching or catching). Wish there was a way for two folks to have an instance of there own to test out things, because I have no idea what my opponents were doing/not doing. They may very well clang *SHRUG* but I haven't seen one yet. It's the sort of thing you'd expect the dev team to test, but as RoF shows, I don't think they actually do play testing--at least not with every weapon. Not that one should have to test every weapon and animation but I really think they have to with the way the game seems to be working, it's not consistent. Add to all of this the ridiculous lag makes trying to figure out anything a very frustrating experience.
Yes it needs to be nurfed definitely. To much damage, clang and a dot. at least 2 of them have to be toned down so that there is some draw back. Because rite now there are none. You could go naked with one and wipe half a team out.
The issue here is not the weapon/s itself, but having damage-over-time effects in a shooter. DoTs have no place in a shooter game and would be better served if they were changed to debuffs instead, still expanding the tactical options somewhat without being cheap as hell as they are now.
Guys, take a deep breath and remember that this game has -just- entered beta testing. It's not like the devs let things like this slip through a long quality control and beta testing process; they never had the chance. I tend to be pretty hard on the devs, so I can't believe I'm saying this, but: give them time and a little benefit of the doubt.
So I just got out of a match against LSM with all of their wolf priests using the Rite of Fire. I was Eldar and my guild and I had sent 4 Eldar to cap B, we got the cap started and the 4 of us were in defensive spots to protect the cap. 2 Wolf Priests came yoloing in to B and just swiped at all 4 of us once and while we did kill them, their fire damage killed all 4 of us. We had 2 DAs, a Banshee and a Scorpion at B. All of us died to 2 yolo Rites of Fire Priests. How does that even work?
