There are several of these special weapons they need to look at...maybe make these versions of them available on elite classes if they ever come out. Until then nerf em all to the ground I say...wiffle bats against eachother with a higher ttk is better than instaohks from that weapon or shit like Hunters mark on the most mobile class in the game.
Honestly, after my first match against it, the burning choppa is way worse, particularly because JP Orks can use it. Drop in, land one hit, then zoom away, you die and can't do anything.
Its true. I use it on my Wolf Priest and I absolutely dominate melee combats. Regularly number 1 in kills, actually.
It's funny that most of the people complain about the RoF CA... It's one item... on one class... in one subfaction... there are other DoT weapons... ranged ones (no... not the SoC)... and melee ones... the later can be used by tanky melee classes... or by agile melee classes (raptor/scorpion)... and the DoT doesn't apply through clang and stuff... I'm playing WP alot and it never happend... it's lag There are two viable option for the WP: Glass Support Warrior (RoF + AOE Grenade + [32 Health or medium Armour)] or Medium Support (RoF + 32 Health + Medium Armour)... regardless my own affords and skill I will die whenever my enemies are not completly dumb or suffer from lag or bad performance on their side... It just needs two enemies + one clang or a DBash and I'm dead... I can't just fly away like raptors; I can't take as many hits as a pure melee can; I can't hit, run and hide like a scorpion; I can't sit on the other side of the map and shoot my enemy till he burns to death; - there are so many classes with DoT weapon of their own... and what's worst? I'm visually standing out... clever enemies see a WP - they concetrate fire - dead WP... yes, reduce the DoT effect on the RoF - so you need to hit your enemy at least twice... but tune down the DoTs on every other weapon even further... The WP has no other option besides taking the CA and a bolt pistole... the only ranged upgrade is the plasma pistole... the WP is a frontline melee support unit... let it have some *bam*-stuff... and yes, I'm a bit bias here ;D EDIT: my worst enemy is the english language... and sometimes logic...
Once again, play it from the other side and you will see that RoF does indeed apply through clangs. Remember that due to server lag, what you are seeing happen may not be what is actually happening. Additionally, saying it's okay for RoF to be broken because there are other problems in the game is a logical fallacy and also insanity. I don't expect more from people who need to main yiff priests to play, but I also won't tolerate that warped view of reality.
For the same reason you get a lot of friendly boltfire to the face... NervousLSMGuy sees you turning the corner, black armor, skull face, burning weapon, panics and opens fire. I get that a lot, especially on matches against CSM.
Playing it from the other side: If my enemy doesn't die after many clangs - it doesn't apply through clang - otherwise they would die after one clang, because you know... the DoT kills after one hit... as many have stated before. If you read my full post, you would have seen that I'm aware of the OP state of the RoF and I like to see it tuned down as well... but you can just go bonkas at me if you need to... that's okay And pointing to problems related to this isn't a distraction... It's about viewing the whole picture... sure you can nerf the RoF CA to the ground...
yeah, that's true... but sometimes the green friendly marker above your head is missing as well... that's the time you die from FF... mostly HB and PC fire...
pretty much same goes with the ork's burny choppa as well... and the base melee of eldar medics.... well... eldar in whole is problematic but that's different issue. But yeah, it seems fire dealing weapons are very problematic. Try Abaddon's grace flaming autocannon; one shot guarantee kills most things with no hope of getting revived even by an sm or ork medic.
I got the Burny Choppa tonight and tested it on my Slugga. To be perfectly honest, it does nothing for me. It seemed to especially suck on Shield bros. I could not ever hit them with it, it ALWAYS kept hitting their shield, even when they were Dbashed stunned. Choppa usually kills in one heavy one light anyway so it's meh. I can see it maybe being more useful on a Stormboy but I don't play Stormboys. It also breaks way easier than a RoF so there's that balance as well.
