I actually went back and adjusted my review to a positive one. They have made improvements to the game pretty steadily. Hopefully they will build up some momentum and hit December even harder before Christmas.
Then why so many games can ahve very positive rating on steam? I think the game reviews in general are quite accurate. Sure there are a lot comments like "Don`t buy this crap" comming from someone who have 30 minutes in game. But I saw others like "Best game ever". I think it is not couse pushing game to steam was a bad idea. Pushing it for release was.
When I see a game I'm interested in, I always read reviews (when available). Some of the common themes that generally coincide with negative reviews- Pay to win, paid DLC, imbalance, and clone of another game. Apparently people who leave negative reviews are tightwad F2P groupies that get around more than a joint at a Buffet concert. Can't really say that here. You had to drop a chunk of change just to be able to leave that review. The "original" batch came from Founders who were unhappy with direction, which hurt the launch. At launch, there was a spike (I remember seeing it go up to 71% positive), but since then, it's plummeting fast. I, myself, have a negative review still standing- simply because I still believe it's warranted. Will my review change in the future? Possibly. It depends on what is done and how long it takes to get done. But that's the thing. I could change my review. The same cannot be said for those that swung the gavel and never looked back (or ever will). I would be less apt to subscribe to the opinion of Steam reviews if the weren't so many of them and they weren't backed by similar reviews from well know sites. The majority could be wrong, you might not agree with them, but they ARE the majority nonetheless.
ah the daily salt thread ... why arent we surprised... same formula too... pick something trivial , post in a zeal to be on FP ..then troll... gg
The steam reviews are always to be taken with a grain of salt, anyone seriously looking into purchasing EC aren't going to be taken in by the simple "bad game" reviews, hell even the mostly negative wouldn't be enough to persuade legitimate customers away. It's the detailed reviews with valid issues that is going to make the difference.
And long may it continue, I can't get to sleep at nights not knowing if melee is still OP, steam forums are still vile, JPA's are still bastards, the Devs are the devils spawn or why am I still getting a scope in the 30k box posted each and every day since launch
Trouble is I am not seeing the 90% P2W or poor rage quit reviews others have mentioned. I always go to the most helpful tab and combine it with the reviewer's hours in game to make a decision on purchase of a new game Which shows 19 reviews, all of them "not recommended" with well over a 1000 hours of gameplay between them, I still bought the game though
I understand, some people seem to think it's sitting at mostly negative because every negative review are these p2w or band wagon hate reviews and it's simply not the case. There are reasons people are not recommending the game in their reviews and it shows. Those, frivolous and half hazard reviews aren't going to change anyone's mind, the legitimate ones with real reasoning behind them are and there are plenty of them out there. The game simply isn't at a state people can encourage others to pick up and rightly so at least in my opinion.
I agree. If the game wasn't $50 I might have a more positive opinion(and steam review) of it. For what they're asking, its not worth it right now.
