Well I apologize, but I simply couldn't resist the remark. Not to mention that cheerleading is more for just a sense of encouragement. Where as morale support is much more involved, than simply putting on a good show to keep spirits high (no, cheerleading is not a simple task). That was my only point.
And of course, in anything team-oriented, you will always need to keep the atmosphere as positive as possible. Whilst also avoiding negative situations or negative people in general.

The main difference being: you can have some asshole on the internet say what they want without any fear of societal or physical repercussions. That factor alone, allows idiots abroad to persistently interfere with command comms.

I love the depth of discussion involving the war council. We'll be looking forward to the examples of fine leadership to come in the days of launch ^_^

I'm sorry but the only thing I'm getting from tornadium is that he's jaded and doesn't want to lead which leads me to the conclusion that he doesn't have more viable formation to bring to this discussion.
Let get this back on track - what's the thread topic? Ah yes... War council rewards...

    And... Go.

Some sort of avatar or item to signify the position or title would work. Nothing more. Let them have a percent of the loot or RQ. Then call it a day. Experience is a given. Now what would be a good reward for let's say the space marines?

I thought that the honor system and the Tribunal in League of Legends works fairly well to remove a certain element of toxicity in a F2P game. Perhaps having something similar can at first weed out players who want to power, and actual leaders who deserve to lead. Player profiles should consist of a simple dossier (perhaps connected to the forums) that keeps track of the deeds players perform - the objectives they've taken or assisted, NPC kills, executions, favored class, leadership positions, and Badges of Honor for being well received in their community. Players cannot apply to become a high ranked leader without at least some element of a Badge of Honor, whether its being friendly, honorable, helpful, a good teammate, ect. They also cannot hold a rank if they are court marshaled for poor behavior as well (reported and tried for racial slurs and misconduct).

Rewarding them is a lot harder though. I'm still thinking about how to give people who don't need to assume much responsibility, who try to control/direct people with even less a fair, and worthy reward. I keep thinking of the quote, "Faith is it's own reward." and trying to think of a way to make it more applicable.

No need for apologies. I took the comment as a funny poke but I did not want to make the mistake of marginalizing a real concern so I answered in seriousness. But my initial reaction and the image it created in my head, of a SM with pom poms cheering for a group of SM's just standing there with a wtf!?!? look on their faces, made me lol irl.

Your points in this post are spot on. imo.

I think leadership roles from squad leader all the way up to the war council should have some small perks.

Mainly if any wargear requires a cooldown the leaders would get a reduction in the cooldown or cost so they may use the gear more frequently.

    Space Marine Examples:
Squad leader: Reduced cooldown and/or cost on Auspex, 1h power weapons, plasma weapons
Company leader: The above ^, and Artificier armor, 2h power weapons, company banner (deployed item/Spawn beacon?), 10-20% reduction on terminator armor.
Strike Force Commander: The above ^ and 30-40% reduction on Terminator armor, teleport homer
War Council: The above ^, and 50-60% reduction on Terminator armor, plus access to Iron Halos which will operate in game like terminator armor without the terminator armor skin so they can show off the iron halo and special artificer armor reserved for warcouncil members.

Point being, as in table top, the commanders would not be running around in standard gear they are usually decked out in the better wargear. Giving them access to the better wargear more frequently will allow them to appear on the battlefield more often with that gear to appear more epic but it does not gate off gear that grants power to them exclusively.

Iron halo is pretty much a cosmetic...same can be done for any other warcouncil Relics and Artefacts.

    How many people were involved?

    How did the attack go?

How did you coordinate all the people involved?

    Was it like herding cats?

If you want to be part of the discussion, welcome aboard! glad to have you, if you want to troll there are plenty of game forums just for you.

    You decide.

well maybe if they had some sort of thing where the strike leaders can talk with themselves and its their ideas say you have all 10 in a room it would allow them only to decide and unless that CO was amazing your probably not gonna have guys that will follow him so not everyone will concern with what hes done so have let the council have their decision and not outside influence

Trust of your battle-brothers, renown and realisation that you played a significant role and did something meaningful for other people is the greatest of rewards by itself.
I know that for a fact. All that stress, sometimes anger, but at the end of the day you know it was worth it.

But I don't mind rewarding War Council with the fair share of XP, a title and a medal. I think this stuff should be put up for a vote though, so that the team has the power to decide if they want to give you, a commander, these rewards

My concern here is that leaders shouldn't be in the Council for personal gain. You either decide to take things into your own hands and help your brothers and sisters achieve victory together or you don't
The Council shouldn't be a farm-machine for the selfish and craving
