Return death count please!

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by M0rbidDesire, Jun 20, 2016.

  1. I have seen people chewed out on fortress for having 30 deaths. People yelling that they wasted the teams lives and that is why they lost. It drives people away so good riddance

    Keep kill Count.
    Keep Execute Count.
    Add assist count.
Make death count where only the player can see.

  3. My only question is how does having K/D ratio enhance my gaming experience of EC?

Your question is wrong, I will answer it tho, it may not enhance YOUR gaming experience but others - by all means :)

Death Count = Pointless. It's a number you really don't need to stress or concern yourself over. Worry about what good you did to contribute to your team.

K/D ratio = Pointless. Literally, no one cares about your K/D ratio except yourself in an objective based game. In general, I find that people get more annoyed at lone-wolf players than anything, as they contribute nothing to squad cohesion, strategic execution or advancing objectives, as they rarely attack with larger groups, but trickle in on fights as they find them, meaning that when you try so hard to up your K/D ratio by looking for targets at a breakneck pace, you end up getting into more fights that you can't handle on your own.

My guild has two dedicated Havoc players and they get more kills than everyone else in the guild combined as of this patch. Why? Because they understand how to work with a squad effectively. They allow their melee support keep the other swingers out of striking distance from them and in turn, support the advances of the other ranged ground forces in order to reach and secure an objective. Why do they get so many kills and so few deaths? Because they work together with their squad.

Personally, I see no point to the execution counter. It's kind of even more pointless than the death count in terms of overall contribution to the game.

I'd rather have a Revives/Rescues counter. Shows us who actually bothers to pick up their teammates and will also encourage players to do so more. A brother on his feet is more valuable than wounded enemy.

You're not the one telling me what I need to worry about :)

    That's more than enough :)

I don't care who's anoyed at what. And lone wolves do contribute, read the earlier posts. And I can handle as many fights as I wish to :)

    Good point :)

That does not exclude including full stats :)

  8. Oh my god...
You read nothing of what i just wrote down, did you? All you bring forth was allready answeared in that post i gave you. Im not writing something down just to have a conversation with you, especially as you use insults as arguments and your points are either allready answeared or not contributive to this discussion at all.
Read my post and discuss against what i say, or don't waste my time.

This is a question for every player, and many such as myself will answer that we enjoy knowing how we perform with statistical data and enjoy seeing how we compare to other players. This is the reason leaderboards exist, this is the essence of a competitive game and any game in which you play against other players by definition, is competitive.

Why would a player want to know their in game statistics? Just as an athlete from a sport like baseball/football/basketball want to the specifics of how well they are performing in different aspects of their sport, we too want to know how were doing. I want to know how many kills, deaths, executions, assists, heals, revives, vehicle disables/destroys, repairs, caps, and decaps I do. I want to know my standing in the player pool because this is a competitive game.

My knowing these things in no way takes away from your gaming experience, but those crying for it's removal take away from mine. It's cut and dry.

Bring back death counter for Harkus, and any future maps with ticket limits. Otherwise, possibly make only your own death count visible to the player.
