This. The problem was always that Banshee in TT is: -Get into melee almost 100% safely. -Cut armored dudes to ribbons. While Banshee in EC is: -Catch a guy unawares(preferably indoors). -Scream him in the back and stab to death.
I find it very satisfying to buff a massive group of players all at once with embolden and enhance Although it seems a lot of people seem to share this sentiment. Get off my turf, these PuGs are MINE!
If they buff the range on destructor by about 3 to 5 meters that would be a super legit spell. That or if they gave it grav gun levels of pen so it could hurt tanks.
Theres a huge difference between being an involved buff bot and just being a walking totem. You could just be replaced by a support "grenade" given to the avenger and it would be an improvement. The support role doesn't need to be dull.
In TT Banshee's were difficult to get them into combat without a WS, as a strong breeze vaporized them. Very fragile, but if you got them into melee they chopped whatever they faced into sushi whether it be marine or terminator with ease. This game, they actually feel to durable in comparison to other Eldar classes...
Protect requires some conscious effort, to be fair. If you want to be more hands-on, then you can use that. Though admittedly that does require a team who aren't idiots. Not always an option. At mid-long range, sure. Once they're in close-range they can close without issue against virtually anything.
I am running 2 builds now, with revered versions of both also. Enhance/Embolded and playing her just like the old embolden melee style, I die more, but I died a fair amount anyway when I got over confident. Also a simple, renewer/protect toon for pure sneaking around behind the troops and keeping them alive. It is actually quite fun relearning how to play a toon which is all well and good now, but when the next campaign starts, the fun will really begin. Eldar UP and destined to be destroyed. I actually don't think that will happen, when people learn how to run the way we have to play now, which incidentally is how we should always have been doing it, I think it will scare the hell out of the LSM.
Moving them across the battlefield is an issue separate to them engaging an enemy. My point is that in TT, the mask/scream allows them to close the gap without getting shot at and then the power swords kick in, while in EC the scream is best used to make sure your backstab damage kills the enemy in one hit instead of two.
Ah, we have differing view of what closing the gap is, as I think of it as all across the battle field closing distance until your at melee / scream range safely. Fair enough though, and I really wish that the Shee's were squishier than they are but their power weapon really was that dangerous to all opponents. Feels to tanky, even though I know they aren't at all, but in comparison to other classes.
