Assuming lore references from 40k are banned, what would the situation be for lore references from Fantasy Battle? I'm down for naming my Black Templar Marius (Leitdorf), my Ulthwe Farseer Teclis and my (hopefully added) World Eaters Berzerker Scylla (Anfringrimm).
I've never understood why anyone would want to copy a major name from any genre. Create a name on your own and make it something worth remembering through your actions.
lore references it's amazing, in guild names should be restrict but the problem is with character names, not everyone who will play the game is a W40k fan or lore master, especially with the wave of F2WAAHG accounts
Who honestly doubts that lore names will be allowed? Really. I do not see it happen. Instead we'll see many alterations like (just check the reservation thread) "Eaters of Worlds", "Imperial Fisting" and so on. It's inevitable.
Yes, I agree that some names should be restricted, just don't want to get banned because my character's name is that of a dead 1st company captain BTW, that's a tricky matter... even if you restrict the name Marneus Calgar, you'll still find Marn3u5 C4lgar and such... it's not easy to block all those atrocities
This is why bE will use live CS/GM who review character and guild names against a database/ruleset. And take numbers and symbols out altogether. The exception being hyphens and apostrophes but even then, restricted. Nobody needs the name -Hodor69- or sEx'A'sAuRuS.
