After your character dies on the battlefield, how is the respawning handled in Eternal Crusade? Do we have a seamless battlefield with static and mobile respawn points a'la Planetside or instanced battlefields where you can't get back into that particular fight after you die?
i would hope termies are allowed teleport homers otherwise the long slow plod to engage again may make them less favourable...
I hope it's not a standard respawn.. not in keeping with lore at all. I hope there's a wounded period where an Apothecary/Medic Class has the opportunity to get you back on your feet then if you die you should end up in a triage facility where it's like they revived you after you were hauled off the field. Then you can have teleporters to get back into the fight...
I suppose you can get back to the fight only if you are in a transport vehicle like a rhino. Would make it fun to deploy onto the battlefield in groups of 20 in a blaze of bullets!
I am hoping after you die in an area you are prevented from returning to the same area for a good ammount of time, so as to prevent zerging and make kills actually matter when attacking/defending.
I'm hoping the respawns won't be anything like Planetside 2 or CoD. You shouldn't be spawning DIRECTLY into the fight every single time you die. Just created grindfests and static 3 hour battles with no flow.
How about the reinforcement rule? After each death the strike commander can call for 'reinforcements' this will deplete his ticket count. For the dead marines / etc they have entered the red dream and are waiting for the reinforcements to be summoned. Once activated they should spawn in a staging area far from the battle but be given rhinos. This would encourage flanking and add a reinforcements persepective making it easier for the strike commander to make tactical decisions. I should mention that apothecaries should be able to get you up, you'll get to your feet and have limited health and perhaps mobility etc for a while. However should you die again in the space of ... 5-10 mins (depending on battle fluidity) ? Then you will be unrevivable.
