Requisition Exploitation

  1. Blade, oh cool. What thread was that on? I'd like to check it out. Thanks!

It wasn't in any thread, it was in one of AMAs or an interview with Miguel, don't remember exactly, but it was even repeated several times so it should be worked on.

Not to mention that plasma cannons are a small blast template, Demolisher cannons are a *large* blast template.
For those who haven't seen any TT games:
From left to right, Flamer/Spray, Large, Small. Which by the way also brings up being able to spray flamers into a melee and only kill enemies.

Large blast templates are big enough to clear decently sized rooms, and if they don't have to worry about hitting friendlies they'll gleefully do just that.

And I'm not saying this out of faction bias, in fact if you turned FF off the Imperial Guard would become OP as hell. We arguably can field more AoE weapons than any other faction. Our infantry have mortars, grenade launchers, missile launchers, flamers, and satchel charges, our MBT gets a large blast template on its stock gun and can be upgraded to effectively have 5 plasma cannons, and we can stick heavy flamers on just about every vehicle we have. That's not even getting into just how many vehicles we have that exist solely to sling templates around.
  4. FF essentially is a necessity unless you want to remove all AoE damage from the game, I swear to god you will see entire companies of Plasma Cannons firing into small choke points with Impunity.

Not the thread for it though.

You can't have a system that judges exploitation, there is always a human factor involved.

I guess a simple system could be paradoxically more efficient, I'm not sure if GMs will be able to handle such a large community. And yeah I'll stop with OT here.
  6. A large enough GM team can handle it, Especially with a good report system.
  7. well good news, the little example you had of a orc and space marina switching off on capping the same base, well that wont be happen, as base will have AI guards and defenses to prevent thing like that soo no need to worrie :D

also for the FF think, do what plant side dose, hit and ally give you grief point, get a enough of those in a short period of time and your weapons lock up for like 30 seconds i think?

From what I've read you get Req from killing players and Npcs as well as capping objectives.

    Killing friends.
If you line up some friends on another faction to kill, all the time they waste being killed is time they aren't spending getting themselves Req.

    Seesaw Objectives
To prevent this you could limit the Req gained from capping objectives at about the amount that they would gain spending the same amount of time actively playing and put a timer on Req gain by recapping it.

This isn't really punishing players since the objective cap is just a bonus and they would be getting Req anyway from killing defending players and npcs.
Also rather than Req the majority of the benefit for holding that objective should come from the bonuses it gives their army rather than the Req gain (except for mines that would give a trickle of Req over time).

This means that these players would have a choice... Wait a long time in a really organised group to get the same amount of Req you could get by just playing and having fun - or - play and have fun.

    PS- @Demetri -
That idea for making griefing players only able to spawn as a weaker unit (for a time) is bloody brilliant!!
Maybe Grots, Cultists, Guardians and Servitors/guardsmen depending on the faction.
You should put that in the suggestions.

Hold on a second this is a RPG, so you have to take the faction into consideration. Deliberate FF in Eldar and SM forces? No that's from a fluff point not good within their strict moral codes.

Orks and Chaos? Those factions would have no moral problems with blasting their own team mates to achieve a victory, hell the way Orks progress is to kill their own leaders and replace them. You're talking about an army that sends Gretchin over a mine field or marshy ground so the boyz can walk on their heads. An army that was the only codex army allowed to fire into CC and a very viable tactic was to use several cheap squads of boyz to pin terminator units down and then blast all of them with AoE heavy weapons.

Complaints of "my team mate just blew me up!" would get the response from me "you're an Ork, deal with it".

You will soon change your tune and it will lose its novelty when an entire warhost of teamkillers is formed (even gets its own Steam group) dedicating each hour of their playtime shooting you to bits for the lulz.
