SO long time lurker of the Dev Twitches and finally went in with the Steam sale and have a few queries about the game. Do bolters actually kill anything it seems to take about 40 rounds point blank to put anything down, whilst Shurikens take about 2 secs to kill me, I've almost never killed anyone with a bolter almost always I have to rely on wounded targets. Lag seems to make most shooting pretty optimistic. Firing at a dude with Abaddon's Grace with a Stalker I seemed to register no hits even thought the cross hair was squarely over and he then cut me down in seconds. If we just skip the LULZ GiT gUd posts, are you just expected to use melee then as shooting seems pointless?
Welcome aboard! Re bolters they are quite accurate at medium to long range - always go for the head. Re lag where are you based? It seems unless you are located in the US you will struggle. Shooting is viable but certain guns are hands down better than others. You need to get opening some crates. What race do you main, chaos?
Thanks for the reply, I play loyalists, I have a company nearly painted for the tabletop. I'm in the UK. I've purchased a Stalker and a Sternguard bolter(s) so far.
I'm also in the UK. The ping isn't good here. If you play SM I'd recommend the storm bolter asap. Or if you want to go melee play jpa and get a power sword asap. To be honest lag is probably going to be an issue for you for a little while.
