That explosion resistance sounds like a really good way to handle the issue; give AT-melee setups some blast padding since they're expected to be right in the thick of the explosion should it work.
Make it a bigger penalty. Should happen maybe once a game unless you're one of the asshats spamming PC into melee. Way too much friendly fire happening in game right now.
Honestly, i think they should go even sharper about teamkilling, and removing some of your XP for teamkilling (Unless your victim forgives you, in wich case you should get all back) The moment TK penality goes away, melee becomes a matter of wich side plasma-blasts you first. When people don't have to care about wounding their allies, they don't Heck, even now most people don't give a damn about if their teammate dies or not As said, i would not remove the penality. I would make it even heavier!
I remember when there was no team killing penalty the plasma deaths were so obnoxious. I like that there's a penalty as it pushes you to watch your aim. The only time it should be allowed is if the team mate is already downed tbh.
Keep it for: TKing Remove it for: Finishing a Downed ally, or collateral damage from tank destruction.
If the guy is REALLY bad and you're REALLY good you can stun him and go for 3 headshots but your weapon "breaks" in 3 clangs and deals about 30 damage in melee.
Totally support this. It isn't your fault if that dude with his powersword thinks he got this, but you with your melta get punished for actually doing something to that tank? He certainly wouldn't have been able to take this tank on his own, but you did something that may benefit your team. For Tank-explosions, no Teamkill Penality please. For the "kill a downed ally" im not sure, but i also tend to not have it
