You are recalling correctly, but it was Miguel Caron that said that during one of the earlier twitch sessions.
You're missing the point buddy. They can and will create new weapon cosmetics, but not those relics. That was their way of rewarding those who decided to purchase the more expensive packs early,or the weapons themselves while supplies lasted. The words exclusive/limited exist for a reason, some customers decide to put money regardless of reward, because they want to show faith and appreciation for a certain ip,while others are only after vanity items. Should they ever implement them again, they would be literally spitting on every early backer's face. If money is money so let's break and twist our vision, like you say,and they adopt this method, their ip that aims to last for at least 10 years, will not survive a few months after release. In fact, the reviews and feedback will probably destroy it. Ever heard of Evolve? Oh they tried the ''it's all about the money'' approach and failed to be transparent with their community, nobody's giving them a dime now. You may not agree with this, but keep in mind that a lot of true Warhammer fans and early Founders would be incredibly disappointed in a company that so easily breaks its promises.
It's a little harsh to say that the game will fail if they let more people buy the Relic items. I don't think people will care too much, since they've already broken the original "promise" that they would continuously refill the store with those items as the player population grew. Don't get me wrong, I have all the Relic items and I would like to be a special snowflake just as much as the next guy, but I don't think the game will suffer more than one or two angry forum posts if they decide to bring these Relic items back later
Then you were among the first batch, and you surely remember a couple of 'changed' or broken promises,we wouldn't want to get used to such pattern, since we already have high hopes for this ip.
Yeah, I got on board about the same time they announced that they were making the game. There are certain promises that can't be broken (like playable xenos and eventual mmo status), but not returning items to the store really isn't one of them
And i agree with you. Although they went '' Hey,you back us up when there's still nothing concrete to show you,and you will get rewarded with unique/exclusive said title, items etc '' Some hardcore fans bought them purely for this reason. While they could have just waited to see how the game will look, feel and play, before making a purchase. You make a valid point, but adding yet another broken promise to the list, develops a rather annoying pattern. ^^
Usually in some games, with some limited items, it can and much of the time ends up in their online store after a year. You approach these things like a pragmatist. Have players had this unique item for a certain amount of time? Could we infuse a few dozen items we already have models for? Will that generate more income for the game? Will this please a large number of players (especially new ones) with the fallout being a few grumbling threads? It's worth the handful of frowns. I'm not even sure which relics ran out, but if they are so similar to other items it may not even matter.
