Will the development really be continued? Stay with me for a second. Say the game is published on September 23rd, and it isn't complete. It's better than it is now, but still not complete. How will the people react? What will they read in forums, online gaming reviews, where the critics don't say nice things? The game could be remembered as a bad one purely because it won't be fully ready on launch. And then what? When sales don't meet expectation, how much money will be invested by corporates in further developing something that doesn't make them money? Or that hasn't even made it's investment back? And how long till they pull the plug on it? This is why we need a complete game, because it guarantees at least a fighting chances for this game. Thing is, it will be hard to recover from bad starting point, maybe even impossible. It's too big of a gamble imo.
That's not any worse than what Humans have faced in the past; it just seems worse from our perspective due to our unprecedented access to information since the advent of Radio, Television, and the Internet. And even if it's only the Eye of the storm, as you say, it's still more peaceful than previous periods in human history. How are you so certain of this? Do you have access to evidence to validate your beliefs or are you just blindly believing in Behaviour's capabilities?
Release day is needed (as they explained in stream) Will change nothing for existing players. So if you want to make this game great and maybe even become the game promised (in the future) you CAN help. By advertising it. By playing it. Not by complaining what went wrong. Not by making negative steam reviews. Thats how to shoot yourself in the foot
I don't think the game in its current state can be successfully advertised to anyone but die-hard WH40k fans... I certainly won't be advertising it to my friends until it gets a whole lot better. The most I can do is to keep a friend (inactive founder) informed without boring him to death. And writing positive reviews is objectively impossible at this stage as the current state of the game is unworthy of being released and we simply don't know what the next four weeks will bring in terms of content. It is one thing to hope for the best, but it is an entirely different thing to heap false praise on a game.
It's incredibly disingenuous and deceptive to write reviews without any legitimate negatives/criticisms (of which there are plenty at this state). That will only hurt the game in the short term and long term as you're skewing expectations. Please don't condone that, directly or indirectly.
I don't presume to know the financial situation of the game, and I don't need to read reviews. I play the game because I enjoy it and I believe it has a lot of potential.
I can't see into the future. I don't make speculations on something that isn't even fully released yet. Communication has been open as far as development is concerned. If people choose to be negative about the future of the game, then that's their right, but I choose to remain positive.
All the scrapped promises and lack of game content do indicate that all those post-launch promises won't come true. Even moreso if it's a botched launch causing a drain of players. They can update the game as much as they want after that, but they won't get the players back. You can only launch a game once, and you better not fuck it up.
Lots of negativity on here about the September release ask yourself this is this game getting better with each patch I think it is. I for one have faith and belief in the Devs who all seem like genuine people who care about the game and the community who are invested in it, have faith in the Emperor and everything will turn out right in the end. P.S. At least you have a release date for PC being a ps4 owner we get no information about our release date except it's been put back to God knows when but I still believe
