Battlefield 1 will be a full game when it launches. DLC will be added later on to add more content to the game that players can buy if they want to. EC will be unfinished when it launches, hell it wont even have a launch, as Nathan says "Launch is just a flip of the switch on steam, it doesnt mean anything". EC will be an early access, eternal development game, no expansions or dlc, just content patches because its still being made.
That's not really selling the game, is it now? The game is currently in an incomplete state but maybe the devs will surprise us with new goodies once it launches.
I been here from the start through a lot of broken promises and changes in direction for good and bad. The past couple days I actually started playing again, watched some twitchs, and enjoyed it. I actually told myself give this game 6-8 more months and it could be something great, and then I seen the release trailer lol. Two years ago or so I got into a forum argument with someone saying this will just be Heroes and Generals with a Warhammer skin, and I gotta say he was right. I was on the hype train and gotta say if I knew this would be the state of the game at launch, I dont think I would of backed it no matter how big of a 40k fan I am, and thats not sour grapes. The Orks are awful right now, they are very blocky and animations looks awful,same with some with the Eldar as well. Features are limited just to scrape by of what was promised, and overall game play compared to other shooters is not that good to justify a $40 price tag and a in game micro-transaction shop. This game will go free to play at some point. I hope you have a lot of stuff you haven't shown us or pull a lot of all nighters from now till then and make me eat all my words and make me apologize for doubting you. Maybe we will get more maps and biomes,sub faction customization, cleaner animations and balance. I really hope we do and have a good large player base and I will just look like a paranoid asshole for thinking September release date looks very grim. [Also are these ready?]
Am I the only one who is getting a sort of sick sense of pleasure at the possibility of a train-wreck launch...?
I couldn't give any shits about battlefield, Or CoD. They to me will be mass produced drivel that is successful only because of a name.
They should have this in big in the center of their office just like in those films where the world will end soon.
Original Dev team gone... Features ripped out... Time brought forward... Game looking unfinished... Thanks Nathan... For taking a game that appeared to be independently making something worthy of a 40K MMO, and then completely making it something that will probably end up being another forgettable stain on the 40K game verse...
