It's funny to see people who yelled at me a year ago talking about how the game needed at least 2 more years in development getting angry now. As for me I have moved past those steps of grief into acceptance long ago. Wrote off my investment as mismanagement and the anger is gone.
All you guys saying how this is bad I have this to say: See you in September You guys aren't going anywhere. You all know that if this game launched in a slightly more finished state than it is now(which is was Sept will be) without early access other than maybe a free early trial weekend, you'd all still buy it. We don't have many 40k games available to us period and this one is pretty damn fun even now.
While I am a little concerned, I'm still excited about what the devs will add into this game before launch.
Know who won't be here September? Anyone else. All it will be is a tiny population of die hard 40k fans. The other half of the population we needed, the casual gamer, won't see the splendor of a 40k game. They will see an unfinished, unpolished run of the mill lobby shooter. Why will they stay 3 months after launch? Why not play battlefield one, or whatever new cawadoody comes out. This game offers nothing but niche nostalgia for 40k fans. And we are not enough to sustain a healthy population.
Seriously. What does this game offer over at battlefield other than 40k aesthetics? Character advancement for that "mmo" feel? Nope you unlock gear in battlefield progression too. Vehicle combat? No again. Broken balanced melee that necessitate cramped building's for cap points to male melee not a joke while at the same time severely hamstringimg ranged? What shooter fan could pass that up!
Don't tell all the Space Marine online players that This is definitely not a run of the mill shooter though. There's enough unique aspects with melee combat etc, jump troops and 4 races with a side of PVE to give it enough flavor. Have faith. Don't start being a negative nancy on the forums, nothing irks me more than people bad mouthing a game on the forum and giving new comers a negative perspective before even trying the game. HOTS forums are bad enough with that nonsense, bleh.
