if you compare the footage of battlefield 1 and compare it with the flacid penis that is EC's combat, you might realise the difference between the two.
Also leave kharn alone. He is (amusingly considering the name) in the anger stage of denial. I was there about 8 months ago when they crapped on all the mmo portions of this mmorts. Now I am calm and have written off your bad fortune.
to me it sometimes seems that for some people their early access game is a bit like their ugly girlfriend. when people criticise her they go: come on, she still young, the acne will clear up! yeah she is a big girl but she will be going to a gym, she will lose those extra pounds! yes i do know she doesnt have her own teeth but at least i dont have to wait in the morning in the bathroom to shower my teeth, right?
Yes.. yes they would. So.. basically we're confirming the game is just enternal development rather than an eternal crusade right This is turning out to be No Mans Eternal Crusade.. You know what I'd like.. a game that is finished at launch... or at least isn't just early access. I accept this challenge. 1: Because its 40k. Why the shit did anyone buy those crappy IOS games? Because of those amazing graphics or intense gameplay? Just because its 40k doesn't mean much. Take away that aesthetic and EC isn't really all that impressive, in fact its kinda dull without it. And not to mention the vast majority of people bought the game based on the concepts and ideas that were generated and the enthusiasm the devs had for the game.. which have since just.. died... RIP 2: It kinda is.. There isn't anything really new or unique about it. Its just a mix of other games with some good things and some bad things about it. Taking a step back and looking at it in its current state.. it isn't anything really that amazing or that bad, its kinda just.. meh. Of course this is subjective, some people love the shit out of it.. for some reason.. others hate it.. To me the last patch made me go from hating it.. to just being indifferent. 3: Battlefield has a large player base because its always had a cult following, just like Cod. Yes its somewhat generic, buts its not just the "BATTLEFIELD" logo that make people play it, its the gameplay, the visuals, the effects, how it turns generic gameplay into something unique even though it really isn't that.. unique. As much of a generic shooter it is, its on the very outskirts of the generic shooter zone simply because of the things it does differently. EC has a cult following because of its IP, without it the game wouldn't exist. And as much as this probably should keep the game going.. it really isn't enough, the players are far more invested in the concepts and idea of the game rather than what it actually is, most people are disappointed in EC in one way or another because it failed to live upto its CORE ELEMENTS that were concepted 2 years ago. Battlefront is a cult followed game and its playerbase is nearly dead besides the few people who still play it on xbox. Honestly, I cant see many non-40k fans really enjoying the game unless they like the general gameplay and have no idea about its development or the IP. If they did, they'd probably be just as disappointed as the rest of us. 4: I dont understand this paragraph, it just reminds me of how disappointing this game is. 5: No. It has less chance of surviving because more players dislike the game and the word has gotten out more. Majority of early access games barely survive until their launch, mostly because players just begin to hate the game because for the most part (like EC) they just fail to live upto what their initial concept was.\ Your argument is basically the same as saying a hype train will mean a game will survive regardless. Which is completely wrong, vast majority of overhyped games die fast as fuck. 6: Bandai Namco aren't bad people, they produce many really good and well done games. We dont know everything that is going on behind the scenes, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just bE AND the publishers getting desperate and needing to do whatever they can to keep this game in the pubic eye. 7: So basically "We dont know what is going on so it should be fine". I doubt there is "double the content" behind the scenes, if you're talking about founders items, improved UI, extra menus, optimization, graphics settings etc, then yeah.. thats to be expected. That isn't anything surprising, interesting, unique or anything that captures my interest, its shit that is to be expected from any developer for any game. If that is the "double content" they have to show.. then I'm even more disappointed. 8: Stawman is strawman. You're basically stating that you know what other people are saying about the game then stating that "but not me, I'm not like that". You're misleading actual arguments about the issues that plague this games development. 9: You're not really being realistic, you come off as someone who is just trying desperately to defend the game as much as possible because you still have high hopes for it. 10: People are giving useful feedback, people are looking at this realistically, people are pointing out key issues and problems that show just how poorly handled this situation is. I dont want the game to fail, I want it to do well. I did like the devs and was so hopeful for this game. It wasn't until the beginning of this year that I actually started to see where this was going.. I'm so disappointed at the "progress" of EC and how it barely resembles the idea and concept of what it could have been, hell I've looked into this enough to know that there were still so many possibilities for it and many different ways the devs could've kept it on track and made it at least some what like the open world mass shooter we wanted, yet every time I point out any of this I get the same response "You're just a troll hater, go away" or "fuck you this game is perfect" or some stupid shit like that. And its sad to see this happen to everyone who has come to any realization that EC isn't as good as what people make it out to be. EC isn't a terrible game.. its just.. a complete disappointment. I dont want it to die, but at the same time I don't want to see it launch, I'd prefer it just stay in development for another few months until its at least somewhat competent. But as Nathan said "launch is just flipping a switch on steam". What this says to me is... its just an early access game. Its just a plain old early access eternal development game that will never truly launch, never truly be any kind of game we wanted it to be. It'll just be "that 40k game they're still trying to make".
People want a complete game at launch, and on septmeber the game wont be 100% complete. This is why a september release will possibly kill the game.Or maybe will totally kill the game.
Replying to all this is pointless... Just... Learn how things work please https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_development Because I see you again speaking about open world and false promises and I can't stand arguing against people who have no idea about what they're doing.
Vast majority of the time these kind of "non-constructive comments" are people who've repeated what other people who've made those constructive comments have said, but done so in a way that is just point out a very simplistic narrow view of it. "Its just a generic shooter" Welp.. it is.
You can`t just simple put everyone in the same basket and said: everyone of 50k founders bough this couse it is 40k. I have many 40k fans from tabletop also fans of wh40k computer games who looked at it and said that price is to high for the game like this. I bogh it for one of them for birthday. Huge 40k fan. In a month he played 16 hours and said it needs more to attract him. Also many founders boough it as a promisse that wasn`t unfufilled (open world, massive battles, etc.) and another thing is WHERE ARE THEY NOW? Steam charts showing 716 players this month. Are you expecting 49300 founders that aren`t playing it now will go back to this game only becouse it`s status will change from alpha to released? I doubt it. So you are justifying Nathan lies couse he wanted us to be calm... Did anyone can really think that bad news comming later could not couse anyone angry? 3 weeks earlier I was just concerned. Now I am concerned and I was cheated = I am angry. I know the games doom is not set in stone with this decission about release. Who the hell knows what will happen... But if they could hold it for 6 moths or so it chances for succes would increse greatly. And again... Noone who will buy this game and will not be satisfied would be intrested who is to blame (devs or Bandai). Good and bad reviews will be for product.
