I would really love to know if you guys are planning on actually making it function the way it should because it's currently one of the worst if not the worst weapons in the game. It should be more like the Autocannon, firing micro missiles extremely fast and accurately over long distance, not with the same damage of course but with a faster rate of fire and less damage falloff. Putting it somewhere inbetween the Autocannon and the HB equivalents in damage and accuracy would give it a nice niche if it had less damage dropoff. Instead we have this horribly clunky weapon that is completely inaccurate past 30 meters with projectiles that are extremely slow. It really shouldn't have much AOE at all even though the current AOE is extremely bad. Why not try making it a bit more like the Autocannon but instead of full auto it fires quickly in bursts of 6 with accurate missiles or something along those lines. This would actually let Dark Reapers sit back in what should be their ideal range and deal with targets and actually take advantage of the scope. It is completely pointless to have one on the current starswarm. "A Reaper Launcher is a unique heavy weapon utilised exclusively by the Eldar Dark Reapers Aspect Warriors. With this deadly weapon the Dark Reapers are the undisputed masters of delivering death from afar. This long-barrelled Missile Launcher can create a blistering firestorm with a single salvo. The armour-piercing missiles it fires are powerful enough to take down all but the most heavily protected foe. Like most Eldar technology, the weapon is psychically activated, and its resonant Wraithbone construction is sensitive to the Eldar's innately psychic mind. A Dark Reaper's launcher is linked to its targeter via the handle. This creates a mind-link with the Dark Reaper's weapon, allowing the warrior to "see" out of the muzzle of the launcher. The resulting increase in their already deadly accuracy means it is almost impossible for a Dark Reaper to miss his target. Their superb aim enables them to dominate the battlefield, pinning down enemy forces and destroying their chosen targets at will. The Reaper Launcher's pan-spectral targeter operates independently of the user, finding and tracking multiple targets and feeding target information directly to the helmet display. It is likely that it can also differentiate between enemy and ally. Other functions are unknown. A Reaper launcher has less recoil and higher rate of fire compared to an Imperial Missile Launcher, and they enable small squads of Dark Reapers to command the battlefield with potent long-ranged firepower." Obviously making as good as it is described would be game breaking but that doesn't mean it can't and shouldn't work as it's described in terms of mechanics. It's an accurate, fast firing weapon but ingame we have a slow firing, clunky inaccurate weapon that can't fill the role it's meant to. Starshot is fine and does it's role, a bit buggy but it can do it. Starswarm barely functions in it's current effective range. Is there a rework or accuracy and or speed increase planned? The signature Reaper weapon is in dire need of one for it's main firing mode.
+1 I just went to the garrison and was trying out the weapons. The developers are turning the dark reaper into a grenadier when the dark reaper is actually a sniper.
Yeah the Reaper Launcher is pretty useless at this point. There's no reason to choose it over the Shuriken Cannon at this time.
+1 this. Missile travel time should be more similar to PC shots though, a bit faster ofc. The Tempest launcher has a BEE-ATIFUL micromissile model and animation, they should literally copy/paste it for Starswarm but in a straight line.
