I'm fine with rangers beign an elite. Snipers don't provide a lot of teamwork, as they're lone wolves, so probably having them as a basic class may do a lot of damage to the faction. And eldar already suffer a heavy "I'm a lone wolf" syndrome. I still remember when they added the stalker bolter and suddenly for some days, "Hold the Line" games vs LSM were a lot more easier because nobody was inside the cap points. About the Autarch, if they added a new unlockable at the end of each Aspect Warrior advancement tree that unlocks its basic equipment (fusion gun, wings, mandiblaster chainsword, banshee howl, reaper launcher -avenger beign the base-) and you could build the Autarch with the mix of them that you can afford, probably will make him much, much more attractive and interesting.
Not a basic weapon. Only basic weapons that a player can easily get count. Not something you have to grind through hundreds of thousands of requisition points for.
Imho, rangers should be a basic class. Same as lsm have stalker bolter. Of course we can't let rangers cap, no, no, would be op. How to separate veteran rangers? More hp, blablabla, sword + rifle?
Then how about kannon till then, arguably best sniper in the game as its only one that actually oneshots, ofc it also got blast radius and av capability. stealth?? blazing ranger rune, which adds 20-30 hp/armor and stealth for 500-600 points, also add that as "free equivalent" of elite.
ranger has basic infantry would make sense in the long range categories. Yet i fell that we might need to think about the other 3 faction through. Everyone should have a sniper class so we could take the skull and stalker bolter out of the hand of the tact. Plus it would help the Ork and CSM at long range too. Variety is never a bad choice and it would add some content in the game making people happy for once
The cannon fires a slow shell that can be avoided at range if one sees it, much less sneaky than the stalker. its like a good plasma cannon! Yeah, agreed. Let Eldar have ranger and the others have a sniper too. Memba Blood Axes? I memba!
Since i have been a fan of dawn of war dark crusade and dawn of war soulstorm i have a few Unit suggestions for Elite Units But i do think rangers should be a basic class but if its elite it will also be very good so it can counter the stalker bolter marines, My suggestion is seer Concil As elite units as a tankish Melee Elite Unit
