I don't have a problem with wolves, I just feel sm in general will have waaaay too many players! Where can I find the info on what classes we know about currently? There's still hope, I just know I'm gonna miss my fav role on the battlefield, aka ninja lol
That's probably true. I'd google it, check their forums and there might be stuff on the websites main page but I can't check that.
Also this thread is a small proof to say that not everone will snipe! A lot of people hate snipers and you can always compensate by making em weak in melee, make it a bolt action where it takes 2 shots even if head shots or give me a semi auto that takes 3or 4. If bullets travel as they do In Battlefield sniping will be challenging enough as is in this game
I'd hate the idea of bolt action it makes no sense in the setting. You can but if everyone goes sniper that doesnt matter and thats the concern. Personally I think you could just make it hard to kill with the rifle without careful aiming to help keep the numbers down.
I agree bolt action wouldn't make sense but a recharging powercell or something maybe? I would even be ok with a pretty long downtime between shots as long as a headshot would get you a one shot kill. I just think snipers are too big in .....every...wargame to ignore. Hard to balance on this scale? Unlikely! What good is working hard to get your holofield armor (or whatever you have for an invulnerable save) if there aren't things out there that would instantly kill you( like headshots from powerful rifles). And it doesn't hsve to be headshots. Rending is explained from a sniper as a shot that targets weak points. Maybe a rifle does a bunch of damage, but still takes 2 or three shots to take down something with a decent amount of armor, but you've got some ability to boost its damage way up for that one shot kill. It would have a cool down of course. I think its very do able and no where near game breaking
I can see it working like the Space Marine Lascannons for SOME weapons but things like Long Rifles can't really be slowed down. I'd just make it so they don't do much damage except as finishing off enemies. I like the idea of snipers as long as they're in the right way.
personally i wuld love to play as a ranger because its my favorite class in the codex especially now whit the new phonix lord fore them. i think that those who play as rangers have them to scout and try to take out the highest threats targets as they do in the lore. but there can be players who will use them to camp and be lame
I think he's confusing Nightspear for a Phoenix Lord. Understandable, when taking into considering the somewhat ridiculous nature of his character. (Being vital to the start of Rhana Dandra? How dare he steal lore from Fuegan!) But as for Rangers - Last I heard the Devs clearly stated that this would NOT be a sniper's game as that does not fit into the feeling of WH40K they wish to capture. No exceptions. And as my dear So'Kiel pointed out earlier, the Rangers are not well-respected members of the Warhost, but renegades who tack along because they hold some loyalty to what was once their home. I wouldn't mind if they decided to add them after all, but right now I understand why they are not doing so and am quite happy for it.
