Its not just WoW, every traditional MMO has always seen the focus shift to expansion after expansion, Its not so much a Carcass in the fact there's nothing to do, there is in WoW's case at 60 the shift to Outland. there is the progression through until the current Cap. As for the end game content (or wouldbe mid game/level raids) at the time there are in game tools that have been created to make it easier to see or experience them "at level"
Been there, in Praag, till the last second when they shut down the servers. With all his problems, was anyway the best straight pvp game. R.I.P.
Never knew Reckoning even existed. Uh, would anyone mind telling me how the combat was, or at least how Return of Reckoning's combat is? It sounds interesting, and if it's good I'd like to give it a try.
Combat is real fun, why not try, the game is free. Last 2 months the dev's bring updates/fixes every week
It's...well, it's worth giving a try if you've ever enjoyed the PvP style of MMOs like Rift, SWTOR or (dare I say it) WoW. WAR managed to do it in a way that was more engaging. It's a suprisingly fun PvP game, with a lot of character outside of the combat as well as inside it. As a friendly warning, the balancing is and always was shot six ways to hell. Oddly enough, part of the fun of the game comes from that - it really makes you despise certain classes, although it will probably burn you out eventually. Different classes all get their moments to shine through the tiers*, until it settles down into certain classes dominating the current 'endgame' level. RoR has got the level cap up to 26 at the moment (out of a future 40), which basically means Bright Wizard and Sorcer(or/ess) roflstomping**. Which all former WAR players will darkly chuckle at, as no-one's ever quite forgotten the scars that left behind. Give it a go, though. Many of us had a love-hate relationship with it for years for a reason. *Except for the Magus, Engineer, Shadow Warrior and Squig Herder, which don't so much shine as faintly gleam before dropping back into obscurity. Although the Squig Herder is an awesomely fun class that's worth playing for the experience. **In fairness, this was the default balance setting of the game for much of its lifespan, and the cause of many a ragequit.
Eh, spose I'll give it a try. Bloody wizards... Like the sound of Engineer though, even if they might suck, mainly because guns son. They do anything other then shootbangs?
Loved this game but it got ruined when they stated increasing levels. Totally unbalanaced the game. I remember playing one rvr battle before the player cap was in place. Over 200 people fighting for about 8 hours. And an epic one on one battle between my Chaos Knight and a Dwarf Ironbreaker. So evenly matched, went on for about 30 minutes until some numpty witch hunter came along and joined in. The unbalancing was the final nail in the coffin, but the main issue was it lacked the socialisation you see in WoW. That an a lack of end game content, though WoW sucks at that as well.
