Yes now we have water that tastes like gingerbread the dope that came up with the idea of water tasting like fucking gingerbread needs to be fired immediately and then hired again so they can fire him again 'cuz firing him once isn't enough! Horrible idea douchebag! Dark times indeed.
Like araghast said we adapt to it. So yeah, we have to adapt to this... and of course this Kill me now.... I'm just hoping this age ends soon so we can move onto something more civilized and less demeaning.
It never is, but nobody expects a utopia. Considering the technological advancements the world has made I'd say we've come pretty damn far.
When the OP said modern age, I thought he meant the recent 2000's, 1900's were a tad better than now, excluding the holocaust,WWII, and all the racial segregation. Now we have Terrorism, Racism, "Swag", "Yolo", Duckfaces, and not to mention all the debts the friggin U.S. owes china, but lets not get to in depth with politics. I just hope future generations will be better. Most likely won't, but I'd still like to hope.
