Okay, so I'm curious about one detail that the game SPACE MARINE failed to do for the game. Will the Tactical class for Space Marines and Chaos Space Marines be allowed to wield a Chain blade? This includes, the sword and axe variants. In Space Marine, the Tactical Class was only allowed a Bolter and other ranged combat weapons. But when it came to a melee weapon it was just a combat knife. That really disjointed me, being a Space Marine is partially by wielding a Chan Blade. It's not restricted to the Assault classes. You could use one in teh single player campaign, but the multiplayer was restricted to Assault Class. I really wanted to be a Tactical, firing my Bolter and then going into melee with a chain sword. So again I ask "Will the Chain Blades (sword & axes) be used for both Tactical and Assault Classes for Space Marine and Chaos Marine?" Thank you for taking the time to view this.
I appreciate the feedback. I hope it will be an option to equip a chain blade for the tactical class? I realize the game is still in development and the team is working hard on other ideas and fine tuning. But I hope this particular concept will make the cut.
As a Space Marine player, I can understand why they limited the Chainsword to Assault/Raptor only, otherwise the Tactical Marines would have been broken. The last thing Tactical needed was another weapon option when they had the most weapons coupled with the Versatility perk. Those duel weapon load outs that everyone hates to face would only be worse with the Chainsword. That said, I would like to take a different route and have the option of removing Jump Packs for Assault Marines; letting them retain their close combat skills while not being impaired by low ceilings inside fortresses and dungeons. Or if Tactical Marines does have a Chainsword, then give Assault Marines the option to have Bolters and Plasma Guns like they can in the TT. That would give a lot of tactical flexibility to Strike Forces.
Depends on what Chapter I guess, I'd prefer the Ultramarines just to be equipped with their standard Gladius but could make exceptions for Veterans.
I'm not sure where the idea came in that chainswords were standard issue.. For sgts, sure, but that's only 1 in 10. In most chapters, a blade of some sort is the only melee weapon issued. Why? A blade has more versatility than a chainsword. It's quiet, it doesn't require power to be useful, it can be thrown, it can be used as a tool, not just a weapon, etc etc. As for Assault marines being able to lose the Jump pack, yes, they should be able to deploy via rhino or drop pod, not just jump pack.
I think they should be equip-able with tactical squads. If someone wants to run around with a chainsword without a jump pack, that is down to them. Crusader squads can do it and assault marines can lose the jump packs in table-top. Like wise, I think a marine with a jump pack should be able to use a bolter. Added maneuverability but a decrease in accuracy whilst jumping.
If it was a perk that replaced the pistol that would be nice. Have the pistol as a back for when your main's clip is empty is important so it won't be a straight upgrade.
