I think the primary weapon or heavy weapon (missile launcher) should have limited ammo but the secondary or small weapon should have infinite (pistol). Weapon durability... Just no. Especially for special weapons! I don't want to have laboured for weeks to get a special weapon, have it last a few battles then breaks!!! I will rage, like no one knows!
why should your secoundary weapon have infinite ammo? we need to care when to go full auto even with our small weaps and we need to practise in melee too
Yep, there should not be infinite ammo. It is one more factor that can be used as balance. If you are doing good, but chewing through the ammo, you'll run out and have to start punching people. Happens all the time in the lore, and should be something that happens in game.
Prefer the idea of limited ammo too, even with pistols and secondery weapons. Supply lines auctualy being important in a game would be awesome. You may not want to take that crappy little outpost over on the side, but your faction needs it in order to help protect and move the supply lines forward, so get moving!
exactly the enemy can also cut the supply-lines to lower the defens of the enemy by limiting their ammo and increase their respawntime (examples)
There needs to be a way to move ammo supply to the front lines as well, for the attackers. Otherwise, taking an outpost will be near impossible, as the defenders have ammo nearby, and the devastators and tacticals of attackers soon become useless. Troop transports can transport large amounts of ammo that they too have to replenish from ammo depots from time to time?
thats kinda likely but if the attackers manage to cut the supplylines the defenders resources are equily limited like the attackers resources i still could imagine that transporters will have some kind of ammo depot to but maybe as a vehicle modification upgrade
