@BrentEllison After playing Overwatch this weekend and playing mercy I have to ask you. Can you add a option for the sorc *or any class that heals with a beam* that allows you to target a ally click once and you just stay tethered to them without having to hold the button down? After playing Overwatch I honestly find it much less stressful having to heal someone by just clicking than holding down the button the entire time. I don't wanna see this done for the poison I only wanna see it on the heal.
https://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/new-latch-alternative-firing-mode-for-sorcerers.53136/ This is something that I proposed too.
The suggestion I'm giving I don't see it needing a penalty like yours though I don't see it as being needed for the poison only the heal. The heal you use a LOT and it sometimes bugs out and breaks when a friendly walks between you and the target. The suggestion I have is just give the option for the heal beam only where you can just click once on a ally to tether them and click between allies. If you attack/switch weapons it breaks it and you can simply just alternate through friendly targets by clicking once. Anyway I'll post in there as well since it's in a different section and it's older. If you're curious what I'm talking about exactly go check out a overwatch stream and watch mercy being played. The healing beam you can choose in the options to make it click and hold or toggle and it has 0 impact on gameplay besides being a little less stressful on your mouse. I know a few players who prefer to click and hold but honestly I have fallen in love with the toggle.
I know all about the problems with the beam. I pretty much only play Sorcerers. I agree it's needed for the heal but, I think it's needed for the other spells as well because our job is to be a force multiplier having use around should make more than one target better or worse off as long as they're in range.
Would make my life much easiser since because of hit detection, ping and framerate healing is a sniper elite challenge for me.
My question would be why do sorc attacks follow and still hit you thru and around objects? If line of sight works for ranged weapons then why not so for sorcs?
@Codger The stream of corruption from my experience always breaks when the person runs around to los me. The dot however stays on it's the same exact dot the apoth applies with every swing from their melee weapon. apoth = high damage melee hit with a dot applied for a few seconds per hit. sorc = no direct damage just the application of the dot constantly refreshing the duration at range. Anyway it can be broken by simply losing them but due to latency it doesn't always instantly break though sometimes it stays tethered for up to 3 seconds from my experience.
Yeah I didn't figure in latency as more then once I would be getting LOS and still see the beam on me.
