Fuck 'em Just. Fuck 'em. With a long spiky stick so I don't have to go near them. Yeah, I feel I have made my feelings about the current iteration of turrets clear, but I'm sure they will be changed soon enough to make them more like Quadguns and less like Quad-Deathstars.
It's a 48" S 7 AP 4 Heavy 4 weapon (twin linked). Of course it's going to hurt! My only beef with them is that they have a respawn after 7~8 min. It's not easy to infiltrate, it takes time to take them down and after all that hard effort, POP! it's back!! Also the Ammo is bugged, It has 500 shots but after your weapon cools down it get all the ammo back. Fix the Infinite ammo and Fix the random full HP repair. At least make people use a repair kit to bring them back online or something similar to PS2 where the gun only works again after you fully repair it.
I dont mind them, its more painful to watch people constantly spawn and charge in expecting someone else to deal with them. Fortress map requires some members of the team to change load outs a few times if its going to go smoothly
While I concur with Nimby's overall assessment, the changes are serving their intended purpose of making everyone stop scoffing the turrets. Obviously fine tuning and balancing is required, but that is a pretty easy fix compared to other issues. Concur with Jerico. I know I built a lascannon build specifically for the turrets, and I know a couple other perennial Devastators that have done the same thing. Live, learn, adapt, KILL!
Yeah, I was pretty angry when they respawned a third time during Harkus as an attacker. We probably would have won if it wasn't for that. It'd be a good warlord power or event (defensive objective that would make them expend lives doing, if they chose to make the attempt). I don't think that being able to repair them from completely disabled is a good idea unless the goal is to give lascannon havocs something more to do. I'd rather have the extra body trying to dislodge the defenders from A after we blow the turrets up the first time.
Same reason I also made a Dev-Lascannon kit too, but it also comes in handy while defending to help take out tanks and transports
I managed to get first place in a game last night by doing nothing but take out quadguns with the PC, of course as soon as they saw me I was pretty much insta-dead every time
I refuse to attack on Pegasus or Harkuss. It's not worth the frustration. I just quit the match. If I cant get any other matches I just quit playing. Pegasus is just too bloody small for turrets in the first place. The turrets make the match too frustrating. You spend 5+ lives and a descent amount of time to destroy a turret or multiple turrets, a few minutes later they've magically reappeared. Why even try if they magically reappear? Once they're down they should STAY DOWN the rest of the match.
Or let people repair them with the Repair Kit... Anyway, have the Quadguns been buffed recently? I haven't really encountered any serious problems with them, apart from being unable to take out Predators and Windicators (admit it, this is how is should be spelled). Also, how the heck can they take so much punishment? They don't look nearly as tough as they are...
