I think it'd be spiffy to eventually see a larger-scale PvE battle than the ones currently available. Maybe around 15-20 players? Not a huge priority for me, but I'd like to see it happen some day. : D Some people don't care about improving their skill at a video game.
That is so freaky. Literally just finished watching the Simpsons episode with the counterfeit Jeans ring.
We all want a lot of things, but there's one thing that a truly essential : a genuiely difficult and challenging PvE. Vermintide nailed it right, and I can certify you've never played a coop horde pve game until you have lived a moment like this : You're at the end of a 30 minutes map. (Which you means if you die, everything is lost and you have to start over) You had to go through a narrow tunnel crowded with skavens to go to the surface and join the extraction point. You've just climbed the tunnel's ladder, the rocks have fallen, the tunnel is scelled. You are 4 players, all low on hp, no one's got any medical supplies left. Then of your buddies scream : there's a gaz rat ! Kill it before he finishes us all ! Everyone of you tries to grab his ranged weapon, some are too slow, some don't have any ammo left, but two guys manages to take them and shoot the gaz rat before he launches it's gaz ball. Everyone is relived. Then another gaz rat comes, nerveous breakdown, scenario repeats. But this time, no one has ammo and the gaz rat wasn't killed : just damaged enough for him to go kamikaze and explodes himself in the middle of the group. The half of the group is suffocating in the gaz cloud. You're two guys left facing the coming horde between you and your extraction team. Vermintide is a game that hates you : I remember patches where the skavens could hit you through walls, I remember the patch the devs decided to send you specials by pair instead of solo. I remember games where everything goes to shit in a bat of an eye because two gaz rat spawned, splitted the group with their 100% accuracy while an assassin is grabbing and killing one guy. I remember the devs april joke about how their game is too easy, while quoting steam forum's players wondering why the game is so hard on normal level. But if you know how to play in team. You win. PvE's special loot ? Nice. Differents types of lairs, including one hunting special tyranids controlled by ennemy players ? Cool. A memorable and heroic PvE ? That's better.
Actually Space Marine game did PvE great. It should look almost the same here. Also, what about PvE with some Chaos deamons, Nurgle abominations etc? It would be awesome.
This is wrong, and wrong to such a degree that I'm confused how a person could say it with a straight face. Like George Carlin said about stupidity: think about how bad the average player is, and then realize that half of all the players in the game are worse than that. If playing against good players made bad players good, then within six months the entire community would be good. It just doesn't work that way, in this game or any other.
I want to face hordes of Tyranids on surface, the underground dungeon sucks and I cannot find orks to queue up.
I fully support Tyranids being playable. For two reasons. 1. They already bent the lore by having a few dozen Orks on the front lines of an attack on a fortress at any given time and having Ork Boyz being able to go 1v1 against Tactical Marines with a fair chance of winning, so the "Tyranids are a swarm, not individuals" thing can be bent too at this point. 2. I've seen the Tyranid behavior in the PvE. The AI controlling them is terrible enough at replicating a semblance of a swarm that I think a random PUG of human players wouldn't be immersion-breaking in comparison to what the existing AI is doing.
I want to do PVE as a squad of Terminators! That would be cool! And definitely increase the XP available, 1000 is not enough, the PVE element is not an easy farm!
