Yo, I've just begun my adventure with PVE on EA (and actually had the first successful mission after about 10 attempts).
I'd like You to post as many tactics and tips as you can to help beginners to enjoy PVE. Here are some of mine:

    1. The best squad for PVE imo - 2 sorcs\medics\equivalents, 2 heavy weapon guys (in case of CSM preferably autocannons, plasma cannons are kinda awkward :D ), 1 melee guy, preferably with heavy weapon (p.fist or maul)

    2. It's obvious the team must always stick together as close as possible: the shooty guys take strategic positions and eliminate the nids, the melee guy watches their backs against sneaky nids, sorcs\medics heal when neccessary or assist the melee guy or in case of sorc - help the shooties with stream of corruption.

    3. The team without a medic\sorc will fail the mission 100%.

    4. As a melee guy don't run in front of heavy weapon guys when they are on their fire positions, you will only get hit by ff, it's better to stay behind their backs and protect them in case they get swarmed with nids.

    5. Sorcs\medics should ofc focus on healing not killing. Especially when dealing with warriors, one melee guy with heavy weapon should be attracting the warriors attention while healers are healing him not letting him die (it's easier on chaos cos sorcs can do that from afar), at the same time heavy shooty guys deal damage from safer postions.

    6. Don't set difficulty level on hard if you're a beginner - it's suicide, nids have double dmg then.

    7. The last one - there must be at least one guy in the team who has already completed PVE mission at least once to know hwere to go, what to activate etc. Noobs will have hard time and often lose their way, get separated from the team, swarmed by nids and die.

EDIT: melta bombs are the most effective in killing warriors, especially the second one who isn't moving too much, the first one may be a problem cos he tends to run more and follow the players in the sewers.
  2. Dont forget about friendly fire as havoc/deva. You dont want to be the noob, who killed the team :p

I forgot about it ONCE in my first run :D But yeah, that's why I prefer to play melee in PVE, havocs\devs must be very careful, I have been killed by ac users so many times.

    DO NOT SHOOT TEAM MATES.
You're not rambos and you'll be surrounded, watch all sides.

The only tips I have to give.
  5. Forgrim Forj Battle-Skald

If a Heavy has established a fire lane, don't enter it. They will have to stop firing, and you've just reduced your team's total available fire output.

If you let the 'nids get to your heavies, life will be more difficult for everyone except the 'nids.

I personally find the ammo pack more useful than the health pack, for the Heavy Bolter. It saves having to run all the way to an ammo crate and back. If I'm set up somewhere that isn't near one, this can take longer than the rest time between waves.
  6. Crouch in front, stand in back.
Getzan, Niothewarlock and Forj like this.

Even more so in case of autocannon (they have only 150 rounds in the mag). Basically maybe the ac is kinda overkill for these squishy nids, heavy bolter is just right and 500 rounds in the backpack makes the difference.

Really only need one medic in the squad. Replace the other medic in the OP with another heavy. The OP has stated the required tactics quite well.

Thank you good sir :D .

i've found great success in using a Tac with a Plasma gun, 3 shots kills a gaunt, 1 if its a headshot, which is easy to achieve, i only struggle to harm warriors.
