Hail Brothers and Sisters, heretics and xenos! Thought it is better to make an introduction now that I gave in and got into the early access, for the time being I'm pleasantly surprised as I expected the game to be in a "worse" shape. With that pleasant surprise I jumped right in, Space Marine as I'm not sure how things are population wise, so for now I had 3 matches as long: 1 win where I did terribly, 1 loss where I did okay I suppose (6th on the list) and 1 crash. The heavy bolter seems to be an odd being as I expected it to be good at mid to longer ranges but as of right now it needs a lot of bullets to down someone, not sure how the suppression effects work as I had not seen anyone use it as long. Will do what I can to educate myself, I tried searching but I had not found a solution for this problem yet, if I may, can someone tell me how to solve the menu scaling problem? As of right now a lot of text is just hanging out from my screen. The help is appreciated and sorry for the long winded post. Happy murdering everyone!
A warm welcome to you my brother, please fasten your seatbelt as you descend to rejoin us happily running towards our doom!
Did so, thank you for the welcome, found a preference for medic for now, helps a newbie like me feel useful on the battlefield.
Hello there, welcome to the community and welcome to the game! I never heared of this scaling problem, so I have no idea how this could be fixed. You could try to get in touch with the contact. The Apothecary and even more the ASorcerer can really help to get a feel for the game while still having an actual impact. Good choice! If you have any questions regarding the game, feel free to ask.
It might just be my monitor, but an image says more then words, this is not just for the controls but every page that has information like so has it. I'll put forward a bug report on the link (thank you very much!), maybe they can fix it. I was considering checking it out to see the differences as healing people can be a bit problematic during the 3 second animation with the Apothecary, reviving groups is really strong though. Got a bit better map rotation recently and got Olipsis (that desert map) on the attacking side, is there anything the attackers can do aside from going choke point to choke point? The other points seem to be locked down so you cannot even divert the defending team and capturing a point grinds to a stalemate fast. Any specific way that one could give a needed push to break it? Usually in my experience we manage to capture A and then things fall apart, some people go to C for whatever reason and only a very small force goes to capture B.
Anuffer medikul man? We'z 'ard pressed 'fer Mediks on da Orks.. Even wif me 'ealin skillz. Wif' yer problem bout' yer attackin' breakin' up, just type in caps in da faction chat, summa' da Grots'll listen too yer.
You´re welcome. They also helped me few times already, I am sure they can help you as well. Nope, you got it right. B, C and D are locked as long as A is not taken by the attacking faction. Once A is succesfully capped, they can attack B. C and D are still locked. But A can be taken back. Once the factions fight over C, A is locked again. If the defending team sets up a strong defense at A, it is really hard and needs a lot of people working together or at least doing the right things. I am going to list some things that I think are important when attacking A on Olipsis. 1) Bring vehicles This got better lately, but still sometimes people forget about the vehicles. If the other mates on your squad don´t do it, bring a Rhino. Try to find places to park, that are not too obvious. And consider defending it by manning the Bolter. A Predator can also help a lot. Try to find positions where you can shoot the spots that defenders are hiding at. A Predator gets stronger the more people man it. You can always ask in the chat to find people driving with you. Both, making it even more deadly and defending it. 2) Try different loadouts You should try out different loadouts for those special situations. A Devastotor with a Plasmacannon can be extremly strong when shooting at A. Try to find the best spot for you, with a good angle. The stairs at your spawn and some places at B are great for that. But keep an eye on people flanking you. Bring a mate. Melee characters can also be very strong since there are lots of targets in there. They might panic when you are right in the middle of them. This often results in them shooting each other and you can get some kills. 3) Take different entrances Most people will use the "main" entrance only. Running in like 20 times, dying. Make us of the map design. It can be really strong to enter the room to A from the backside. You can throw a grenade and often get a few people when they clump together. 4) Be quick - use the momentum When you are about to cap A and there are enough from your faction to defend those last seconds, you can already leave (you won´t get the XP for capping though) and try to make it to B. Don´t forget your Rhino, if you have one. If the defenders and their last respawn have enough time to set up a defense at B, it gets really hard to make it to D in time. The best thing is to really rush it. Sometimes you will get the enemy team off guard as some of them will still be around A. Here you need to be lucky so that enough people from your side follow you to defend the cap. When they are about to recap A while you are capping B, don´t run back to A. As long as you started capping B earlier, A will be locked before they get it. But you have to be sure that you are able to hold B. Those are the things that came to my mind. Sorry for the wall of text. Good luck and - most importantly - have fun.
Cheers, I always forget about vehicles though I find it most of the time that I am unable to spawn at a Rhino for some reason. I prefer maps where the points are all free for grab cause if you can't force one point then you can always try and divert their force to other locations, having only one point to defend makes their job much easier. Maybe I just had bad luck since I'm playing alone so I'm partially reliant on pugs to do the lifting, I'm not the kind of person who can make such a huge difference. Tried out Aspiring Sorcerer as well but the healing mechanic feels wonky at best and all around weaker then the Apoc's heal and the range you get in return does not feel that much of an improvement, have not tried out the other "spell" he has, but if it has the same range as the other one then it does not seem like that it would have too much use for me. edit: also don't worry about good ol' wall-o-text, I don't mind reading.
Not sure if you know about it, but you can only spawn at the Rhino from your squad, the blue one on the mini map. Most people on this forum consider the Apo a bit stronger than the ASorcerer at the moment. The nice purple beam can be a benefit, because you do not need to put yourself in danger. Also, it will help most people survive a duel. But on the other side, if you play against experienced enemies, they will ignore the one you heal and come right at you. Reviving is much worse compared to the LSM, but I like playing some purple beam ASorcerer from time to time. There are two "other spells" at the moment, depending on your loadout. Either it will make the target of your beam (red) take more damage. Or you apply some kind of dot effect on the target with the dirty yellow beam. This one - I think it is the stream if corruption - will be worked on. They want to add an aoe effect and such. I think then it´s going to be much more useful.
