Morelth- Morelth seem to sneer a bit when he found out he was helping humans though a blow against the imperium interested him also. He was currently indifferent about this operation. He thoughts then went to the battles he might have and with a smile went with the others to meet with his squad. As he listend to the plans and hear they only had a small mention of time and a possible combat of astartes chapter if they manage to get out of combat filled him with ambitions. "If the astarte manage to Get past the Shas'O are we to engage?" he asked with a what looked to be a smile. Erron- Erron listend to the plan and wonderd if there would be any mutants or rogue Psykers on the planet. "Do we know what types of forces the Rebels have and want they are armed with? Also do we know how to distinguishes them from other Imperials?" he asked
The slavering carnivore in their midst became far less animated throughout the short briefing, absorbing the details in that all too pragmatic way that saw the Kroot never coming to prominence across the stars like those species that had developed some capacity to dream beyond their next meal. A last rope of drool fell to the floor as the briefing wrapped up, his quills having long gone still, though his pheromones still exuded the scent of a hunter in his prime and looking to defend his territory. As the various Shas'la took their leave, Torek remained behind; hand coming up to rub at his jaw as he had often seen Imperials doing when they were in thought. He silently padded up behind their resident Imperial who was so brazenly making a stand before the Ethereal, letting out an amused warble. As was the standard among his species, the Kroot towered over their Tau employers, as well as their many human ones. They could easily look an Ork in the eye before ripping out their green throats, matching their ancient enemy in muscle, pound for pound. It was simply the Kroot physiology. Fast, strong, versatile. A predator's physique. The Carnivore looked down at the Imperial and sniffed once, remembering it's scent should it prove hesitant to cooperate once the mission was underway. Such sentimental beings, Imperials. Torek's voice was a croak, as if it were unnatural for him to speak in anything but the screeching war cries that took place near the end of a hunt. "Am I needed for anything else, Ethereal?"
"They will be the ones who aren't putting a round down at your skull. Las or stub." Fio answered. He took a hit from the stick and looked over the data the drone had handed him(Is this where you put whats on it?) "So, one hive so far? We can work with that..." Fio said thinking of the situation was on the ground for the others who actually were planet side.
< @BadDo9 > The Shas'la smiled and nodded her head. "I was thinking the same thing, lead the way!" < @Vulpas @Skarboy @Xaphen @Casavay @PorOborosCain > The Ethereal laughed at Fio's remark. "The man is right, as of right now, we do not have anyway to determine that, it is actually one of the mercenary groups missions, you all will be deploying tomorrow, along with the 1st battalion to find information, we have a captured Imperial ship that you will make planet fall in. Establish a base of operations and a landing point for the rest of the Cadre, you will have one week to accomplish this. And Torek, you will be going with the mercenaries."
< @MetalDog4 > Jirel smiled at Mar, and started to lead her through the hallways to the mess. His mind was racing again, and he couldn't stop it. "If you don't mind, I'd like to ask how you heard that? I haven't told anyone outside of the Shas'O that debriefed me, and my squad." Then he shook his head. "You don't have to answer that if you d't want to. I mean no insult." His hands were wringing around each other. He was so nervous, and now he might have just scerwed up.
OOC: those of you in the mess hall, it looks like a mess hall, in a few hours (IRL) you'll get a message signaling your deployment will begin tomorrow. So have fun, and feel free to make up and interact with NPC's
< @IyandenCorsair @BadDo9 @DeranVendar > The Shas'las that made up the first battalion received a message stating: "Shas'las, you will be deployed planetside tomorrow. Please prepare for deployment and be in your deployment zones at exactly 0500 tomorrow...[The missive then goes on to describe the mission]." Mar turned towards Jirel after they had both read the mission briefing with a smile on her face. "Looks like we'll be in the same battalion this time! This is a new tactic for them, I hope it works." Her eyes gleamed with hope and ambition as she thought of the potential opportunity for an excellent Trial by Fire during this escapade.
< @MetalDog4 > Jirel smiled back. "I am sure you'll do fine, Mar. I can see you are a skilled warrior, and would make a fine Shas'ui. It's in how you hold yourself. And I will be there to support you." His mind panicked as he said that, but it was too late to take it back. Not that he would, but... he might have gone too fast.
0500? Easy enough the newbie thought to himself as he finished up the last of his meal. He didn't recognize anyone from his battalion here so he kept to himself for the most part and because of that he opted to keep to his own this time. Now that he had the mission details, it was time to memorize it. He could do so in his quarters he thought, stepping up out of his seat and beginning to walk out of the room and into the hall, datapad in hand as he was already starting to pick through all the details.
"Let's make that five standard solar cycles, no reason to wait around too long after all." A smooth, but smug, voice cut across the chamber. Standing up from among the Water Caste delegation, Envoy Zimo'Yi made himself known. Black hair hung braided down the side of his head, the rest obscured by a silver conical hat. The water caste symbol shown proudly upon it. Robes of blue of his rank, and an added white sash to better convey peace to the Gue'la of this world. The newest addition to the Tau Empire and with it, Zimo's rise to rank of Vre. Placing his right hand over his chest, bowing his head respectfully to the Ethereal. One would notice an odd sight upon his left shoulder. A tan serpentine creature with two intelligent blue eyes on either side of a split jawed face. Only long enough to secure itself around Zimo's shoulder. The Nagi's spotted sides glowed light blue for an instant. 'Don't be over confident. This will be different from sending encrypted messages to beings you've never faced. Are you sure you won't require my influence?' The Nagi said voicelessly. *Under his breath* "No Orphis, if I am to impress the Ethereal it must be with my own abilities. You'll just have to remain here in luxury and give your wise council elsewhere." Zimo said playfully. He and Orphis had become fast friends since their fateful meeting at the start of this journey. Zimo might be arrogant, but even he wished to test his skills. The Nagi brain worm's abilities for persuasion was legendary. While at first intimidating, the young water caste found that weak willed minds were always more susceptible to suggestion. How else could it be explained? "I have only one question, what is the name of the rebelling Hive city? Or are we to depend on what the warriors can beat our of the Gue'la? The sooner we learn who not to eliminate, the faster we reach the path of building trust between them and the Tau."
