Yeah, i feel your pain, some herectic fuck already claimed Dominus, guess i'll have to be LucasDominus.
remember that also names are subject to bE and GW moderation/filter. war 40k/fantasy/aos are not allowed for example. http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/naming-conventions-for-guilds-and-characters.22509/ de: 1) Be inspired by the lore and canon, but please don't directly imitate it. 2) Try to make sure things sound like they belong in the Warhammer 40K universe, so we can avoid things like Ultramarines with the name "Pewpewdieguy", "Buggyman420", or "Driizzzzittt" (even with 3 t's and 4 z's). 3) If it's a person, place, thing, or event from Warhammer 40K history you're probably not going to be able to use that name. (eg: "Eye of Terror", "The Rout", "The Crimson Path", "Sons of Horus", "Space Wolves", etc.) I say probably because there are exceptions--for example, if you're making a guild and want to call yourselves "The Wolves", or "The Fallen Sons", these are obviously names that reference certain canon things, but they're acceptable (if a littleunoriginal ) 4) The most successful people have been the ones who have submitted a range of names; I know it's hard, but try not to have a favourite that you're dead-set on, and then a list of runners-up. We really don't want to disappoint anyone if your 1st choice is rejected. 5) Lastly, consider that if we're on the fence about the name we'll be sending it to GW and Graham McNeill to review; so please (before you hit send) consider whether or not your name is one you'd actually ask him to his face As ever, it's unlikely these guidelines will change, but you know how working in the warp is... sometimes things mutate.
If I see anyone with those names actually in game come release day...no amount of virus bombing will save them from my wrath.
Got my names reserved back in the day already. Don't think they will have to change (I hope it at least).
Please tell me I'm misunderstanding this rule. Are they seriously going to shut down names for not being "WH40k enough?" Like if I wanted to make a character called "Letsplayguy" which doesn't risk stepping on any toes from a legal perspective, would they tell me I couldn't?
I am curious, I have a character reserved that has a two letter name, is it going to break? I reserved it a long time ago before I knew about the name character limit.
So if Forumname and Character names are totally unconnected, where does the second forum name come from? (which for me is the same). Was that something at accountcreation? Like the small one is unique, and the big one can be used by multiple people?
Yea, I just thought to reserve the character name I had decided on. One version of the name was taken so I had to alter it a little.
