Greetings We all enjoy playing with friends and such, but let's be honest here: Roving guilds of 15-20 people all banding together to completely demolish public queue games is NOT a fun thing to run into. This happens about every third game I play. I run into PG, or VII, or BRO, or MYST, or whoever else is on that night, and they all coordinate to abuse the most broken weapons / tactics, and there's nothing that can be done as a random player against that. It really hurts the experience. Now you're probably thinking "QQ, just join a clan then and deal with it". Yes, that's one option. Another option is to quit the game entirely, because it's a real pain in the behind to have to run into SO often. I'm not launching this game again until weapon balance is looked at (i.e. plasma guns, and melta bomb + melta gun combos, plus more), but I'm definitely not going to spend any significant amount of time on it when I run into enemy warbands 20 people deep all getting their rocks off by pub stomping some poor randos all night. Just not a fun experience at all. So what I'm trying to "ASK THE TEAM" is if there are any plans to prevent / dissuade this kind of stuff? Like for example, only letting 5 or so people queue in a random public game, and only allowing massive 15-20 person teams to queue in the big battle section like they should be doing? It's not just me, a lot of people say the same thing when we smash head first into a brick wall of plasma guns, melta guns, and energy swords every third game. I'm done with it, and I know a lot of people feel the same way. Just think about it for the longevity of the public experience.
There are no plans to deal with this and you will sadly have to deal with it yourself. inb4 clan members retorting with "Git gud, l2p, and our favorite lern2temwork."
Actually it would be nice if they did something for this. The option to join in guild vs guild battles or premade vs premade is listed on the war map. Unfortunately it does not work and apparently will only be available when the Developers decide we can do it, I assume for special events.
Speaking as someone in a 3 man guild - use to play space marine together so the steam group made guilds on each faction - I've played one game where there were 15+ people from one guild and i'm rank 5 so I've played enough games to get to that level (however many that would be) maybe i'm really lucky but my own experience of playing in PuG's is that premades are no where near as common as you are finding unless we are being very loose with our definition of a premade (apparently 6 peeps from one guild was a premade in a game we won during the scoreboard chat)
Yes, we all know that solo players SHOULD be able to beat 5 or 10 working as a team because their hearts are pure, their motive noble and all that BS. That said, there are no paladins in Warhammer 40K. (Except the Grey Knights. Call them that. Please. I want to watch!) Teamwork wins wars, not individual heroics no matter how cool. Sorry if it is depressing that an organized team who works as a team is RARELY outclassed by a mob of individuals no matter how badass they may each be but that is fact, not opinion. Your best bet? Find a group you can work with. Solo, you are easy prey.
I know chaos love to chase kills. Forget how many times I am being chased by 4 raptors while a fellow tactical caps or interupts the cap. I think the main issue you would be having is guildies will focus on teamwork not scores.
