Problems with lifesteal weapon mod

    Thanks for the tip, have to try and see for myself. I think that LS might need to be tuned down a bit and MoK buffed or kept the way it is, but giving some unique bonuses when using chain-axe or chainsword?
  2. I mean, the fluffiest way to run a mark of khorne is together with a chainaxe i guess, a special bonus for chainweapons (wich make the enemy bleed the most) would be a nice touch i feel :) Like the idea.

    AND it would finally put chainweapons back on the battlefield. Right now its more like "Im stuck with chainweapons until i finally get powerweapons".
    Also, something should be done to LSM, to make Chainswords viable again i feel like :/

    its actually will be 20% of health for downing a player after fixing. MoK is 40% and it is 20% of Life-leech

    That'll definitely end reign of terror of certain melee builds.
    It should always be an option, not THE option, just like anything else in the game.

  6. This is my biggest complaint, though I do feel lifesteal in general is a bit overpowered as a mod. The Mark of Khorne is next to useless when compared to the lifesteal mod.

    Mark of Khorne:

    Pros: Grants lifesteal on both melee and ranged hits

    Cons: Costs 150 loadout points to equip, removes your ability to be healed by sorcerers, wear a healing item or be picked up from a "downed state"

    Lifesteal mod:

    Pros: Grants life on melee hit

    Cons: Costs 100 loadout points

    So, when you look at these two things, one of them costs MORE points and hurts you to equip it. The other is more affordable and DOESN'T hurt you... so... why? Why would ANYONE want to take the Mark of Khorne in this example? Personally, I feel the lifesteal mod should either be completely removed (Making Mark of Khorne really feel unique and have a place in the game), significantly more expensive to equip (I'm thinking like 250 points for the mod alone, if not higher than that to make people want to take MoK and suffer the penalty to heal instead) or have it's lifesteal significantly reduced.

    This mod is not only strongly pushing everyone in melee to take a fast attack weapon with lifesteal mod (To the point that 80% of the melee players I see these days have a Power Sword with Lifesteal mod) but also making a really cool Mark just silly to take.

    I hate how LSM have Lifesteal mod for things. That is just completely lore breaking. Like heresy inducing madness. Really does annoy me. Do devs not know anything about 40k? They could at least name the mods something other than lifesteal; call it 'emperors wrath', with a description about 'after dealing hits to enemies you gather strength to keep fighting to protect and serve the imperium' etc etc. .

Clang enhancers are actually much better for duels than lifesteal, if two people equally skilled in melee duel the one with stronger clangs will most probably win, the deal with lifesteal mod is that it gives you great sustain and utility in melee blobs and multiple fights against weaker opponents.

    I have both life steal and damage mod on my power sword but I am seriously considering dropping the lifesteal and going back to my armor + toughness build. I find I die too easily moving into combat when i give the points up for lifesteal.

    It seems to me, and this is of course subjective, that when I win duels I am typically full health anyway. I will have depleted or very little armor left but rarely go into health. I rack up a lot of kills flanking and wrecking devastator types which lifesteal is wasted on. Those attacks are typically one strong attack to the back and one quick to finish. Those kills make me wonder if the damage mod is necessary or just a waste of points as well.

    For reference I am typically playing LSM GA bestbro build which can get very tough spending points properly. When I jack up the weapon the class feels gimped. I suppose i could grab the shield but I don't enjoy slow boating without a ranged option. Plasma pistol is sweet.

    To sum it up, I am not sure the 'best build' will necessarily be the best build for all players.
