I'm thinking more along the lines of a Reaper Launcher in Starswarm mode, meaning the gun can be fired at partial charge for a lesser effect of a full one, but I expect it'll shred most basic classes with a quarter-charge shots. It really depends on the charge speed, since Terminator equivalents are supposed to be very powerful.
I doubt Terminators will be able to sprint outside of maybe assault terminators, but even then just a cooldown-based charge ability.
Can terminator's sprint? Will they be able to in EC? That's why I said there are just some considerations. We don't really know how they're going to implement them. For all we know, EC is going to bend the rules a bit and allow Wraithguards to have some sort of good melee ability.
Well, Terminators aren't that slow. They are just hard to stop once they get going. So if they sprint, they have to commit to that, otherwise they might run into a wall. Terminators can sprint, but they have to wind-down when they stop. They will also probably get a dodge, but it would be a hop like heavies. But, I doubt meganobz and Wraiths can sprint. So they need something to make up for that.
Indeed, it's one of those things that's really hard to theorycraft, especially because BHVR has been pretty tight lipped about the mechanics of these units.
All we know for now. The gun will handle the same as the Warp Hunter's. It is essentially the same weapon but downsized.
For Meganob, a bull rush charge ability that they commit to until they hit something, be it an enemy (bones most likely removed from existence. Rip.), the scenery, resulting in a very stunned ork, or a vehicle, resulting in a very large dent in the shape of an unnecessarily big helmet. I imagine something similiar for Wraithblades, but more controlled, and you can choose to stop early and slice INA wide arc in front of you, with bonus damage from being a charge. Wraithguard should probably stick to teams, however, as they'll probably need support. (Yes, I do want to slice someone in half with a Wraithblade charge. Please BHVR, make it badass.)
Several topics in one here. 1. Current OHK weapons for default classes and the reasons there shouldn't be any OHK weapons on default classes. This statement speaks for itself, once you ponder the question, "How will an Elite, Hero or Terminator kill faster than an OHK"? Seems silly if you think about it for any amount of time. Default classes should NEVER have OHK capability vs other default classes. 2. The fact that Power Axes have the same Armor penetration as Power Swords and Mauls. Axes should have higher AP already. It's bullshit they have the same AP as Power Swords. We're going to need higher AP options for Assaults(not elite, non hero) to deal with Terminators(and equivalents) as well as dealing with Heroes and Elites. 3. Implementing 2 handed weapons for default classes to counter Terminators, Heroes and Elites. I dont see any option other than limiting certain weapons to Veterans, Heroes and Elites. Weapons that can OHK currently should all be limited to Hero, Veteran or Elite.
I also want to point out that the Axe (last I checked) had the same lp cost as a Powersword which makes no sense.
I'm not worried that much, TEQ should be slower. easy to track with a lascannon, thus actually giving lascannon a new life. Where you double from tank hunting to TEQ and other super heavies hunting. Seriously, when was the last time you saw a lascannon user? Though admitedly I use it a lot on fortress matches (not enough people online anymore to get into a fortress match since a month, and I'm from Quebec...). There is also the fact that as an ork I prefer the kannon because it is more versatile even though the lascannon would still be better for anti vehicle. So yeah if we could go to a point where plasma/kannons can't OHK elites, and lascannon require like 2 shots to down a TEQ but only one for a vet, that would be pretty neat I think. You will still have means to defeat those biggies, and the means will be long range, so melee will be less of a reign supreme when you try and get close and personal with vets/elites/TEQ...you'll realise you'd have been better off with more range. I'm not sure... simply because lascannons and equivalents are pretty common weapons and they can one hit kill a lot of stuff. WH40k is an unforgiving universe even for the best of the crop. I believe elite status is more about being harder to be killed then about being able to kill faster. Orks are a good example. I see your logic, but I disagree, simply because your not required to be a veteran to have a OHK weapon in this universe I believe.
