Power Attacks costing Stamina - Deeper Melee?

  1. Or maybe melee specialists would need to use the bash just as much as tacticals instead of relying on outclanging weaker weapons. ;)

    You're about game where player can abuse melee systmen and destroy everythink with one shot? Or kill armored guy with bare hands?

    And here we go again with this exemple.
    In EC you are stuck in an animation in chevalry the lower body doesn't work with the upper part that's why you can aim (and make it look really silly by the way). And I don't see where Chilvarly punished the spamming. It was more a question of balancing heavy weapons/armors against the lighter one.

    The problem isn't how melee classes are powerful in melee but how they can easily be in melee range.

Well, the d-bash stun is super short, it can be also dodged, the animations make some problems on the clangs and heavy attacks (orks and eldar have this specially), mods give 20% damage for just 50LP, power weapons are too cheap, the DoT weapons are all broken, painboy cannot retaliate in melee but is in fact a melee class and the lunge on all the factions are 10 or more meters long.

    Buggy ork heavy meele and warlock light meele domination is really frustrating right now.

    There has to be some changes.
  6. Dbash being short is fine with me, this game has a very low TTK, not controlling your character should be kept to a minimum. I still get hit with a light attack on a dbash from Sword users all the time.

    Animations should, in theory, be equal across the boards I agree. However Eldar might need compensating then for something and I shudder to think of giving them anything haha.

    I've never had an issue meleeing with Painboy personally, he's pretty nuts. Dbash and light attack, walk away as they die from poison.

    Weapon mods probably do need a boost in LP. Damage mod could be 75 points, Lifesteal 150 would help put the squeeze on people's builds.

    During the initial founders launch we had stamina on melee... It didn't feel good at all.. They went through multiple versions and honestly it just couldn't work. The melee was gimpy vs ranged because soon as their stamina was gone they couldn't do much of anything besides watch the enemy start shooting them in the face.

    Originally it was like this

    you could do roughly 10 fast attacks per full stamina bar or 4 strong attacks.... Sprinting and dodging also costed stamina. They ended up removing the sprint from the stamina this still didn't feel good at all so they removed fast attack and made it so the only 2 things that cost stamina was the heavy attack and dodge... This often left melee unable to defend themselves since they would use a strong attack and be out of stamina when they really needed it. So heavy attack lost its stamina cost and we have the stamina system that we have today where it's just the dodge roll.

    I can't tell if you are talking about chiv or EC. Both have one shots and both can kill a guy in armor with hand of sorts. Also "exploit" is a funny word to use about how that combat system is. This game has a shallow combat system that only allows so much growth before people rely on OHK plasma cannon to get 45+ kills. In chiv I can take any weapon to a public server and get top score, and no that's not an exaggeration. Archer crossbow would be the hardest though....

    I used to think the same way, but if they really want to go with a stun system, they should just make the stuns punishing. Ork bash is especially guilty of not letting me follow up with a single melee attack. LSM bash seems a bit better (at least when I'm on the receiving end), but I think everyone should either get enough of a window to do one attack or we should simply change it to dish out damage on the clang. I'm more for trying the latter as there are fewer places where lag can cause wonky issues unlike with the kick/headbutt.

  10. You can light attack after d-bash? Why they always clang me after D-Bash? I cant connect never a fast attack after d-bash! And is not a server issue, I got a pretty stable connection.
