You inspired me to this. Credits to you, i just fleshed out the idea more i guess http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/pvpvpvpve-how-to-get-what-was-promised.58829/
Agree... Balance is not that important right now even when it needs improvements. New weapons, classes are not important. Why the hell anyone would want to see terminators if the game is still boring lobby shooter with no persistent world? Playing this game for 8 month or so and I don`t know why and what for I am fighting for... Lost or won thousand of battles and still I can`t see what my faction gained or lost for it. Reviews are going down... 62% positives. It is telling. Unfortunatelly I think that we crossed the point when this game could be fixed before devs will run out of cash. Simply to many things are mess... Looking how it looks I have the feeling that game is not even beta. It is still in deep alpha.
Honestly I agree with OP. I think that sounds like a fucking fantastic game mode. Just give us a giant map. Throw in some assets from other maps in some random order...then let all the factions in. 10v10v10v10. That is it. Promise Tyranids in the future, whatever...but this 4 way battle NEEDS to happen.
Heh I presented the idea about a couple of bigger, more open and less clogged maps a couple of months ago as a temporary quasi open world replacement, the devs weren't too much interested in it. Yep, big, free map without a 'scenario' enforced on the players could do the trick. Will the devs make them, I dunno but taking into consideration the amount of work needed to fix, patch, add, create all the stuff that was supposed to be on launch first makes me feel it's a bit too much for this team. They would basically have to work like in the crunch time for the next 6 months at least - that's very unlikely, if they were able to do so we wouldn't have all the problems we have now. But we can always dream.
Please, do it. I remember his posts on steam telling that game is just fine and its only problems are trolls and liars. Still... knowing him it is hard to imagine he will wake up from his delussions... Just wondering if he will find any new arguments for white knighting.
Well... ok. I understand. Still I think t would be nice to see his comment after he called half the community liars and trolls.
That would be problematic. Because this game needs a feature like that. The vision is wrong and half baked. Right now we have a lobbyshooter, okay, but the mapdesign feels like the devs are trying to forcefeed us how to play: where vehicles can and cant go, the points on fortress maps that in combination with tickets and timers (which has already been changed a bit since last patch, right?) that basically makes it about holding A, B is sorta the rearguard action, once A has fallen. It isnt being thought through properly. What needs to happen in my idea is to change the UAT into a playground/testing ground. Make use of the founders you got and LISTEN to em. They dont listen. Yes mayber when it comes to melee and how the bolter spread should be reduced by 0.34 %. Except that shit isnt relevant right now. It's still a mystery to me wtf they been doing these past years. I'm serious, i dont mean it mean, i honestly look whats in the game, and then even that is half-assed. wtf went wrong we'll never know, except it doesnt excuse a thing and it doesnt negate the danger of this game being dead around the time of the 1st expansion. release it to consoles all you like, i bet they dont even play even, monywise. vision for this game needs a desperate change. gears of war4, BF1, etc. Nobody is gonna care about this for consoles.
I get that we all want stuff, but like...shit doesn't grow on trees. Your opening line does indeed say it all: It's been ten days since launch. Do you know how little can actually be done in ten days? I mean you're asking for entire new modes, new maps to accommodate those modes(would have to be really), new mechanics etc etc. It's frustrating for sure to see a game lose it's ambitions but you have to have a little more faith than 10 days... We have, at minimum, close to 3 months of uninterrupted work they can spit out. Then we should get the first expansion and I'm assuming(highly likely anyway) a "re-launch" as the console version comes out. If you're not having fun right now(I am, don't know how you guys aren't), take a break and come back every so often or wait until 3 months down the road for the expansion and check it out. If after the first expansion they fail to really improve the game then well..yeah..probably won't fare well.
