Possible solution to the feelings on "overpowered weapons"

    I agree with OP.
  2. I like the idea, I think it would be harder to implement with tacticals but in general I support it. There would be an issue of balance with classes who's default weapon is a power weapon or force weapon though. If this meant we just saw even more warlocks I would be against it.
  3. Yeah but how many times have you been in a game where the LSM team just switched to their knives in their spawn, charged and proceeded to face roll everyone because of the power of those combat knives? I've even seen them used like lightsabres to deflect plasma cannon shots! They needed that nerf ;)

  4. Imho the poor design choice is some weapons clearly represent a direct upgrade compared to their counterparts.

Progression in weapons is vertical: once you get the "strong" one, there is no need to go back to other versions.
Weapons should be sidegrades, not upgrades: every weapon should have pros and cons. And if a weapon is clearly better than the other versions the it should cost more LP so players should be forced to give up something in their loadouts.

    Swords are the perfect example.

Then, when it's about melee weapons, they are in general too powerful and players perception is influenced by game performance and unreliable animations.

OK, and skubs who use it. ;p

I actually like OP's idea a lot. It makes sense in the future since we will have more 'Elite' choices to chose from.

How about just stop weapons one shotting. Its not a fun or fair mechanic. DOESN'T GET AN SIMPLER THAN THAT!

Ironically, the two most notorious one-shotting weapons in the game right now are the Wolf Priest's flaming crozius and the Ork's electrified choppa axe.

I'd support this only when in turn the veteran class has no spawn limit, only the "only 1 loadout" limit. That would mean everyone could only ever dedicate 1 loadout per character for some of the more "elite" equipment, but that one could be used unlimited.

I doubt we will see such a big change but it would be fun to see them continue to test new systems on the UAT servers...not very likely though unfortunately :(

Odds are they dont have the budget or staff to do such big changes outside of putting lipstick on this pig which can make the game a bit better but far from what I assume many of us hoped for.
